Re: Other NHL games
Did Boston call up the entire Providence team? This is pretty bad right now. Hardly the same team as last round.

Re: Other NHL games
Its so freaking simple. The Blackhawks are winning every battle for the puck, they're driving the net, theres 2 guys within 5 feet of Rask on every shot, and they're shooting, a lot.

He's my favorite NHLer to watch. Best two way winger in the game.DontToewsMeBro wrote:Hossa is a gamer...always makes the right decision with the puck.

I'm looking foward to him being overpaid in a few weeks. Preferably by an Eastern team.

Two things, blocked shots are really exciting...... Cross checking guys from behind is legal if you're in white today apparently.

What an effort. If only we would have a chance to draft a winger like that.

Does everyone who's tripped end up looking like they're doing a superman impression or is it just Marchand??

Jagr is completely worthless 95% of the time. The 5% he isn't, he plays like he is 20 years old again.

Re: Other NHL games
He will be overpaid, but this is one of the things that sometimes gets overlooked. The complementary scorer. I didn't really respect/fully understand the concept until fairly recently. It's surprisingly hard to find good ones. And teams will "overpay" for them relative to their skillset because of their rarity, but also because of their inability to effectively scout this type of player. Often found as overage players/undrafted (Dustin Penner, Chris Kunitz, David Clarkson, etc.) and teams will pay for them if they feel they cannot cultivate that talent. Even when drafted, good ones can sometimes get away...potentially, Mitchell Theoret an unsigned Isles draft pick, strikes me a good complementary scorer years from now, we shall see.columbia wrote:I'm looking foward to him being overpaid in a few weeks. Bickell is looking at $3+ million. Maybe $3.5 or $3.75M even. Clarkson is looking at Hartnell money ($4.5M), if I had to guess. These complementary scorers are tougher to come by than many think...unique skillset. Somewhat abstract.

Bruins have no business being in this game right now but have a great chance to go all-out for 20mins and maybe steal this one.

Also mentioned that when the Hawks won the Cup they lowered ticket prices 29%. When the Bruins won they raised prices. I reckon you can access Hot Stove on the CBC site for the entire bit.mikey287 wrote:No wayprofpolisci wrote:CBC reports the avg. price of a SCF ticket in Boston is $1380.00

I had to LOL at Emrick saying "looks like a garage sale out there" when two sticks and a glove were laying around on the ice.
