Isles lost a 3-0 lead to the Blues recently...tonight Minny comes from 3-0 and 4-1 to take a 5-4 lead. I'd rather them win these games.

I'm amazed how many times philly ties games late. It happens quite a bit.

But they lost in OT, so yay.

As for the Isles, I had that game written off. We could be entering a more entertaining, less annoying phase of the Isles season.

I'm impressed as to what Edmonton is managing to do. Every team in the west in recent years has made the playoffs (or if not made the playoffs in the case of Calgary and Winnipeg doing well this far into the season) yet the Oilers are consistently among the worst three teams in all of hockey every year.

Something needs to be said about their consistency. It's amazing to think about that the last time they were in the playoffs, they lost game 7 to the Hurricanes. That was so long ago.

Insane Shootout in Florida tonight. I happened to see on Twitter it was going to shootout and turned the game on. Up to 19 rounds. Caps shot first. 5 goals scored by Capitals, and Panthers countered in the same round every time. Brooks Orpik actually scored a goal in the shootout. Jokinen scored early with the Forsberg move. They are now going through the shooters again....round 20....

NHL Network drumming it up like an incredible classic. It was fun to watch, but it wasn't some amazing game.

That being said, Orpik pulled out a pretty good move there. The Pens practices paid dividends for him (and not for Niskanen, haha).

Well, it did the break the record as the longest shootout in NHL history, so, it kind of is a classic now. Record was 15 rounds.

I liked the elimination of the tie, but i end up turning the game off after overtime. The shootout is fun when youre at the game though.

If one watched that entire shootout, I don't know how one could say that shootouts are dumb/boring. That was highly entertaining, if not just to hear the commentators practically beg for it to end.

I was going to mention mascots, but not for a shootout. They should just build one of the sumo wrestling rings at center ice quick and let the mascots sumo it out to determine the winner.
