I just poured a lone Weihenstephaner I found amongst my stash. I don't know how it escaped me before, but that situation is about to be remedied.

Tap It IPA. A small brewery close enough to the coast to nurture fresh hops and water. Clean and no surprises.

I haven't met our new guy yet, but I've seen him. Not the same.

Haven't met or seen the new guy. I'm going to tell him he has big shoes to fill.
Ate at Goose Island at O'Hare yesterday. Matilda at an airport -- awesome. Dirtiest tap lines ever -- not so awesome. Probably should have just went with Sofie bottle.

They're both good choices.
BTW: This is a great place for a meal at O'Hare:

Dogfish head namaste was pretty bland, let down by this one. Lagunitas maximus was good. Great divide Rumble oak aged ipa was pretty great.

I remember not being impressed with the Namaste, which is odd considering Dogfish is one of those brewers that I think that can do no wrong.

I like Namaste. It's a good summer beer.JS© wrote:I remember not being impressed with the Namaste, which is odd considering Dogfish is one of those brewers that I think that can do no wrong.

Re: GIVE ME YOUR BEER SUGGESTIONS!!
it wasn't bad, but it wasn't something I'd go out of my way to find.
I don't mind witbeer in general, and you're right that it's a good summer beer. I think the problem is that I expected more out of it and that the style isn't exactly known for being creative and having tons of variations, which seems to be common with Dogfish products.

My brother says it's his favorite brew tour in the state. You should enjoy it.count2infinity wrote:I don't think I've had anything from Shipyard Brewery out of Maine. I'm going on a tour there in mid-July. Hope it's good stuff.

Re: GIVE ME YOUR BEER SUGGESTIONS!!
Living so close to dogfish makes me not appreciate the beer as much I think. 60 minute is a staple at most bars here and most of their brews are available at a lot of local shops.

I found a sixer of Weihenstephaner in Indiana (state).
I can't believe I found it outside of a bar, to be honest.

Re: GIVE ME YOUR BEER SUGGESTIONS!!
Unfortunately it's a tour that's set up by the conference I'll be at, and I won't have a car, so unless it's in walking distance to Biddeford or organized by the conference, I likely won't be able to go. I'll keep it in mind though if I meet up with someone that has a car.Kraftster wrote:You gotta check out Allagash.count2infinity wrote:I don't think I've had anything from Shipyard Brewery out of Maine. Most reasonable bottle shops carry it, so I'm a little confused.

Optimator goes really well with a bowl of mini penne and homemade sauce.
