I think we need to agree to disagree.
And you started this, btw with your whole, "People who text and drive are dangerous" spiel. I say, "Text and drive! Survival of the fittest!"

Guy across aisle on plane home from Vegas tonight did not shut up for 4 hours. Apologized in advance for talking a lot but he gets nervous on airplanes.

Re: Your irrational pet peeves
These monthly letters I get from Century III Kia that make it seem like I am getting some uber personalized letter from them regarding how in demand my Hyundai Elantra is (I sold it last year to someone else) and that I can get a great deal for it. They started at as a confidential letter in the style where you have to rip off the top and bottom to get to the letter. Now I get a one page printout that looks like someone printed an email from Outlook. The bottom email is mocked up to be an email from the sales manager to the salespeople about their great November but used car inventory is really, really low. The top email on the page is a sales person replying to that email and mentioning to the manager that they tried to contact me about my Elantra but would send this note to me in the mail. On the printout is a sticky note with a message on it (printed using some handwriting looklike font) from the salesman saying that I should call him. Yeah, ok. Everytime I see a letter in the mail with a return address of "Program Headquarters" from some city in Florida I know I am getting one of these things. Do people really fall for this marketing tactic?

4 day/3 night trip to the west coast that has resulted in my body having absolutely no clue what time it is right now.

Front desk security guard at my new office is one of those guys who just names the day of the week it is when you say "how are you?" He also says "what's up" each time you walk in and out of the door no matter what the frequency. Yesterday I was helping to carry food in for the Christmas lunch and had to make "what's up" small talk 6 times in a matter of 10 minutes. Nice enough guy but that's just too much and makes it awkward

Story ended with his gf coming to get him to drive back to Punxsy or wherever and each of them thinking the other was driving- she got drunk at the airport, he got drunk on the plane. Soooo.... i would have no issue looking straight ahead, putting on headphones and closing my eyes in between sentences. but i also give off the "don't talk to me under any circumstance" vibe to people who i sense are a threat to my inner peace.PghSkins wrote:Ineffectiveshmenguin wrote:Headphones ?PghSkins wrote:Guy across aisle on plane home from Vegas tonight did not shut up for 4 hours. it's an important distinction that i didn't say, "everyone". i'm usually quite pleasant to strangers who aren't in other cars. but i have a radar for problematics.PensFanInDC wrote:Nahhhh ya don't say!shmenguin wrote: but i also give off the "don't talk to me under any circumstance" vibe to people who i sense are a threat to my inner peace.

Hey waitresses. Please stop approaching me 15 seconds after my food arrives and asking me mid chew how it is.
