Why spike it when you still have a timeout? Everyone knew it was going to be a fake.ejd43 wrote:Stupid ass. What a dumb play call. Spike the damn ball and kick a field goal.

They were out of timeouts. Blew the last one after Juju's catch and run.ejd43 wrote:I thought they were Out of timeouts?DelPen wrote:Why spike it when you still have a timeout? Re: Official Pittsburgh Steelers Thread
They would have wasted like 20 seconds running 70 yards down the field and getting set. It made perfect sense at the time, especially since they scored on the next play.ejd43 wrote:What a terrible play call. It was an ugly win for the Steelers, and I wish that Ben wouldn't have thrown that trash INT, but they gutted out a tough victory. Clutch TD by James.

The Steelers arrogance got the best of them the last 20 seconds of the game.

Or arrogance, stupidity.
They weren't arrogant, they were stupid. Stupid people that thought they were being smart ended up making a series of stupid decisions at a time that required being someone being smart.

Re: Official Pittsburgh Steelers Thread
Why we refuse to bracket Gronkowski is stupid. We continually have a more talented team than New England yet we get outcoached every time. The play calling on the three and out is the worst of the year. Also, why do we throw a pass to the flat when you can throw it out of the end zone on second down and have another shot? Just a comedy of stupidity that has become the mantra for this team against New England. No way Hayward Bey scores there....throw it out of the end zone Ben. Then reset for third down without having to rush. then the fake spike and a slant on a one man route. No words can express the crazy nature of that debacle of en ending to a game. Also, we wasted a timeout earlier in the half. That was a killer too.

Oh, the pass intereference that Davis had on Gronk was bs....Gronk was pushing off and Davis just shielded his hand. That has been allowed all year. That led to a field goal.

What a wasted opportunity. I do think the Steelers can go into NE and beat this team though, I didn't feel way about 4 hours ago. I guess alot of depends on how injured AB is.

**** Patriots. Every **** time.
I haven't been mad about a regular season loss in years. But I guess in the end, Vladimir Putin's team is just our daddies. Good night 2017 season.

Ugh, calling that a drop is in such direct violation of the spirit of the game. The NFL is **** six ways to Sunday and if they don't figure out a way to bring common sense into its officiating, they're going to just ruin the game even more than it already is.

James had control of the ball for a long time before the wiggle. The call mystifies me.

Re: Official Pittsburgh Steelers Thread
Does anyone here actually watch any other games besides Steelers? I might turn on the Panthers since they are local but I used to watch NFL just because and my TV had football all day Sunday. But now it’s very little.
