Stoked on my top line, Skinner-Duchene-Wheeler. Super speedy, deadly, oozing skill.

Re: Dispersal Draft Game - Discussion Thread
Yeah, he's older but he's still tough as nails and can put the puck in the net. Not to mention leadership.
Thinking about putting him with Thronton instead of Tavares who'll probably play too fast for him.

Re: Dispersal Draft Game - Discussion Thread
Nash is far too talented for me to let him slip any further. I didn't think he was anywhere close to as bad as he was made out to be in the playoffs, actually quite good the majority of the time. I think he'll flourish being the fourth or fifth best offensive player on the team and serving more of a secondary role. He's also been molded into a nice penalty killer recently.

Nash was one of the 3 or 4.

Re: Dispersal Draft Game - Discussion Thread
Skinner is a LW/C btw. (You have him listed as C/RW)
Nash is a good value pick at this stage. This is the meaty part of the draft IMO, when things get really fun.
It'd be cool to start seeing people's rosters. Should we all just manage our own in a new thread?

Re: Dispersal Draft Game - Discussion Thread
Nash is a good choice. He actually wasn't one of the three I was thinking of, but maybe he should have been. The playoffs was the best defensive hockey I've seen out of Nash in his career. And he wasn't setup to do a lot of the goal-scoring. They outletted through him, as opposed to hitting him on the fly, so he was more in a distributing role. You'd like to have more points definitely, but MSL was appreciably worse than Nash in those playoffs...

Yes, I'd like it to have its own thread so people can discuss and so I don't have to manage the managing. I'll make one shortly.pcm wrote:Skinner is a LW/C btw. (You have him listed as C/RW)

Yes, Skinner played LW last season, I just bricked out on it. Fixing...

Re: Dispersal Draft Game - Discussion Thread
Nash sent the message to me that he was a loser when he signed that contract with the at the time obviously going nowhere Blue Jackets. Missing wide open nets in the playoffs when he routinely walks through 3 guys to score on a well positioned goalie in the regular season doesn't help that for me at all. Not a lot of playoff experience but almost no production either.
Paul Martin produces points at a better rate in the playoffs than Rick Nash does.

Yup. Byfuglin in front of the net on the PP with Stamkos sniping... yikes.

Brodin and Hamonic, very effective defensive players. Good selections, both can play the right side.

I think I want Hamonic on the right and Brodin on the left. If I get my fourth D I am targeting, that is

Re: Dispersal Draft Game - Discussion Thread
By the way, i think this is a good number of teams for this. Any fewer and i think the teams are a little too deep to the point where the best team is a tossup.

Interesting, and I hope it's ok to state that observation, that no goalie has been taken in the last five rounds I think. Four goalies in quick succession and since then ... nothing.

To elaborate, I love Justin Faulk. Really, really wanted him to be a part of TBD.
Shocked he went after some of these guys that just went in the last round or two.
