He sure was. :D Oh, and the boos--how they rained down...
Yeah, my roommate gave birth to a whole litter of kittens right here in the living room. The super-homer Flyers announcers seemed pretty content with it though, and there's a fair case. Perreault is not a strong player and he called it right away that Giroux just gave himself up.
Tell me he was shocked that a Flyer dove. Because then I'd be force feeding him a heaping tablespoonful of Fresh Step.

Nah, typical nonsense about how the refs make this a joke league and yada yada yada. One thing doesn't go right, he just stops watching. If they're playing poorly, but especially if the refs make one call that he doesn't 100% agree with he'll usually quit on them for at least the rest of the game, maybe a couple games. I used to try to be objectionable and discuss things with him, but if I say something that's anti-Flyers I'm a "hater" and if I say anything that's pro Penguins I'm a "homer" - I've talked a lot of sports, with a lot of different people, at a lot of different levels of fandom, top of the food chain to the bottom...never been called a "homer" by anyone else but him before. So I just gave up...it's unfortunate.

Anyhow, back on earth.

If anyone had on their bingo card for the 2013-14 season "Jaromir Jagr would have a breakaway from center ice in" feel free to very, very slowly mark it off. That's how the Devs second goal was scored as he stripped Martin St. Louis at the defensive blueline and went in all alone and went shelf on a 6'7" goalie. Probably the slowest breakaway in history. I started laughing out loud about two strides into it. But good for him though.

The stat of GWG didn't become "official" until the great expansion. Gordie Howe had 121 during his career according to compiled scoresheets.

Yeah that's it. I was kinda surprised out of the examples of diving in the league, that this is one of the ones that they chose to give just a 2 for diving and no "evening up" penalty with it. Perreault is not a strong player and he stops before he gets to Giroux and doesn't give him much from behind there. It's embellished, but I've seen plenty worse. I would have just let the whole play go probably.

There is noticeable delay between the contact and Giroux throwing himself forward...the ref down-low even delayed putting his arm because it was kind of a "what the ****" play by Giroux...Perreault knew it right away, Giroux didn't argue it and the Flyers announcers showed a brief replay of it and didn't say a word about it. I wish they'd call diving more, but it's a very difficult call to make. Takes a lot of courage. The ref down-low at the best angle in the building for it too.

JJ should pass that this year too.

He'll also pass Lemieux in all time scoring in about 30 games. Amazing what he's doing. Could this be year he returns to the... Nah.

That was a dive, didnt seem that bad though.

Also, watching the oilers is pretty great when theyre playing against your fantasy goalie.

It's actually a shame JJ spent three years in the KHL. Because of this, Gretzky still has more assists than anyone else has points. Maybe.

Then again, that has always been the coolest stat of all concerning Gretz.

I don't have any problem with homer announcers, but those gentlemen indicate that the Bruins fans are the biggest d-bags in the league.

Last night the one hit behind the play, a Bruin literally lined a guy up, and then went flying himself as it appeared he just attempted to hit a stone wall.

Edwards got all fired up "OHHHH WHAT A BIG HIT BY (whatever bruin it was)"... like dude.... the Bruin by far got the worst of that hit, and the Duck player was still skating almost in stride.

In the shootout last night:

"THESE ARE ELITE PLAYERS. ELITE PLAYERS AND THEY ARE FINDING NOTHING ON RASK!!"

This was said after Perry missed.

And when Iginla scored his it was like he pulled a move nobody had seen before, but he just went bar down. I thought he was going to stroke out.
