Whenever Karlsson has time to shoot, he should. He's not doing it. This is a problem.

Exactly. At the price and age, he is hardly the worst of this team's problems nor will he be for the upcoming years, terrible as he's been.

I don’t think I’ve seen Ron MacLean in like 20 years and he looks exactly the same. He’s like the principal from Back to the Future.

It’s because he’s listening to his coaches. The coaches are the problem.Puck-Lurker wrote: ↑Sat Dec 23, 2023 8:06 pm Whenever Karlsson has time to shoot, he should. He's not doing it. This is a problem.

That, or, that's how our PP1 guys think they should run the powerplay. In which case a coach needs to tell him to shoot or Letang gets his spot back.DelPen wrote: ↑Sat Dec 23, 2023 8:09 pmIt’s because he’s listening to his coaches. The rookie is the only one who knows what to do on the PP.

Rakell isn’t scoring and now he’s not doing anything good in our end to help the defense. Not good.

I can’t accept that Karlsson wants to play the PP like this but hasn’t his entire career until now. It’s the coaching and our player have always listened to the coach except one time when Therrien got fired and that was an old school move by Gonchar to help force that. Every other coaching change has been the players buying in to the coach and what the coach wanted wasn’t ever going to work.Puck-Lurker wrote: ↑Sat Dec 23, 2023 8:13 pmThat, or, that's how our PP1 guys think they should run the powerplay. Swap out the coach and Karlsson and Graves will improve markedly.

Rackell is still technically a Penguin right? I mean, his job is to play hockey FOR the Penguins, right

Re: Official GDT: Pens @ Sens 12/23/23
Why would they force anything with no time left on the PP?

That's twice they fail on the PP and immediately give up a goal. Those are almost like shorties.
