However, the wording of the writeup leads me to believe that the baddies took that shot. I can only recall one instance across all games where the reds attacked/protected themselves, and that was dagny in Lost Wars (and her teammates weren't happy about it).

I do feel like there isn't necessarily much logic to be found on Day 1 in most cases, unless someone really does something to stand out... which no one has for me as of yet.
I agree.
Crank is clean as far as I'm concerned.
I still think MR25 is the most suspicious though.

I'm gonna go with lynch CBear3

Not necessarily sold on anyone, but we don't have much to go on at this point, so yeah.

I wish I could be indignant, but it's not my style. It's day 1 and somebody's gotta die; but just because it's day 1 doesn't mean you can't get something out of the conversation.

Although I hope slappy gets time to finish me off, and complete the circle from JI3 :)

Yea, I have a problem with killing someone just because they made an observation on day one.

Now if CBear was saying something that made no sense, I'd be all for taking him out. But shooting people just because they said something only encourages silence on day one which isn't a good thing.

I don't see anyone besides MR25 disputing CBears observation that Crank is the village angel and that the RED's targeted him.

OTOH, I think MR25's suggestion that NAN (Tonto) fired the shot is ridiculous. That assumes an independent had a kill and the RED's didn't.

I seriously doubt that's the case.

Yellow Crankshaft
I don't get either of these statements.

How is CBear misguided? My first impression was that Crank probably protected himself, like every angel does on night 1. I mean, if the reds DID shoot at him, you think they don't realize he is the angel already?

Your vote for Crankshaft strikes me as suspicious, and your rapid backing down as soon as people started to vote for you moreso.

What EPP and shaf are saying about MRandall is true, but IMO that makes it less likely for MRandall to be red.

Why would a red make statements on Day 1 that seem so ridiculous/detrimental to the village? OTOH, I can't comprehend his thinking, either. Maybe he's trying a new-fangled reverse-psych approach.

Just because someone might be blue doesn't mean you shouldn't vote for them on day 1. Seldom is there anything to go on unless someone does something egregious, or the seer gets lucky and comes out on Day 1 (which never happens).

Often times, trying to dig too far too early can be detrimental as you end up uncovering good RPs left and right.

You could say that WK may have tried to kill CS out of revenge.
You could say that MRandall's posts in regards to CS were odd.
You could say that CBear flying out of the gate using the revenge excuse is fishy.

I could perhaps vote for any of them, but I chose CBear. I don't have a solid reason, but it's day 1, someone has to go and my dart landed on him.

I actually agree with redwill. I think MRandall's posts are more a product of not thinking things through than subterfuge by a red.

lynch cbear

That count appears off, Shaf voted for MR25.

I don't think MR25 is red, unless he is doing this on purpose, but that seems too risky. I think he's just out in front of himself.

There are more than a red and green faction, EPP. It's not out of the realm of possibility that the orange faction had a shot last night.

Use your head. Read a little. It does wonders. I copied from the opening paragraph a few pages ago, yet no one seemed to notice.

We're definitely dealing with multiple factions.

I don't see why MR is getting heat for thinking. It's obvious there were two shots last night, and that cranky was saved. An orange faction seems to be plausable, as a sole independent with a single kill is unlikely to use it on night 1. Green vig traditionally doesn't get bullet until night 2, so that leaves us orange, or even could be two red factions.

I tend to side with TWC in a sense - that day 1 is a crapshoot and we learn more from a kill than no kill. I can be the final vote on cbear if that's where we're headed. But the longer we discuss, the more we learn too.

And, if there are more than the normal green and red factions, and they all have a chance to get a kill, wouldn't it be plausible that the factions also have the ability to make a save in lieu of a kill?

I'll agree that there could potentially be multiple factions... but do you honestly believe that we're going to be able to discern much from what we have to work with so far? (at least on day one - perhaps actions speak louder once we have more information later on)

No, I'm just pointing it out because people seem to think I'm red because I'm playing the game with the information that there is more than a red and green faction.

If we're not going to get any other talking or productiveness, might as well string up cbear and get this over with and not hold us up any longer.
