Re: RIP Thread
The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Philip Seymour Hoffman has been found dead in his apartment. I wish it was a death hoax, but as he recent left rehab for a heroin addiction, it's probably true. ![Sad :(](./images/smilies/icon_sad.gif)

Re: RIP Thread
We were just watching Twister this morning and I chuckled at how far he had come since then...weird coincidence.

Re: RIP Thread
Its being reported that he was found with a needle in his arm. Guess that detox didn't work out. Never understood the attraction to even try hard drugs like heroin. Regardless of all that, dude was a hell of an actor and leaves three children behind. RIP.
Edit: Was apparently in the process of filming the final Hunger Games movie (part two of the third book).

I read he was sober for 23 years before he fell off the wagon in 2012. Went back to rehab last year.Hockeynut! wrote:The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Philip Seymour Hoffman has been found dead in his apartment. Such a shame. Great actor.

I saw that too. It began with a prescription to pain killers, which he ended up getting addicted to and escalated to heroin. He seemed to realize quickly he needed help (I think he said he voluntarily entered rehab within 2 weeks of trying heroin) but it looks like he couldn't beat it.

His death bums me out. A fantastic actor, and with his young children he ultimately leaves so much behind. To stay clean for so long, and yet ultimately fall too short is such a sad and humbling story.
