I actually almost feel bad for Islanders upon reading this.Newsday calculates that during the past four years, the hoo-doo'ed goaltender has appeared in all of 47 games, winning 14, while being paid $18 million, or a little more than $1.2 million per victory. And there are still nine years left to go on his contract...

Never. I will never feel bad for that franchise or their fans.Headshot77 wrote:Speaking of DiPietroI actually almost feel bad for Islanders upon reading this.Newsday calculates that during the past four years, the hoo-doo'ed goaltender has appeared in all of 47 games, winning 14, while being paid $18 million, or a little more than $1.2 million per victory. This is a franchise that sponsored a mid-summer party showcasing a game that ranks as one of the ugliest goon infested brawls of all time.
With all of their wonderful history, winning four straight 'Cups, the fan base has become one of the most vile, uneducated, repugnant group of losers I could ever imagine.

From Alex Ovechkin's GF Maria Kirilenko:
Q: Have you noticed that he plays better when you are in the stands?
Q: Have you noticed that he plays better when you are in the stands?
Sound like 'roid rage to anybody else here?A: "I hope so, that he is feeling my support, that I am rooting for him. He always looks at me.
"Once we bought tickets not to where we usually sit. After the game, his shirt was a little dirty. He told me that he couldn't find me in the stands and smashed everything in the locker room. Coaches asked him what was wrong. He said that he couldn't find me and [his] dad. He was shown where we were sitting. And he calmed down and scored a hat trick," Kirilenko said in an interview to Dozhd television channel.

Maybe there is a back story, but that seems very lame.

Pretty sure I saw Alexei Yashin in the suite level hallway last night. That's kind of weird, isn't it?

He's still getting paid by the Islanders. He probably just shows up whenever he wants.Kraftster wrote:Pretty sure I saw Alexei Yashin in the suite level hallway last night. That's kind of weird, isn't it?

Some people have stories from war or Fayettenam; I have a story about wearing a Red Wings t-shirt to McGillin's and yelling, "MURPHY DUMP! MURPHY DUMP!" during the '97 SCF.canaan wrote:giroux. karaoke.

she was on some "sports nutz" podcast prior to her CSN work and some people believe its from some of the comments/actions she made on that show.columbia wrote:She was having too much sex for their taste?

Did those actions have anything to do with what was on her mind during her spot on that report?

Re: Canaan's thread of NPR chaos.
Andy Sutton is retiring. I don't care, but on the radio yesterday, he was talking about his equipment that he is developing and has been for a few years. Yes, he's an expert, he has an engineering degree and knows what he's doing. I have actually heard a little bit about this before, but this is the most information i've heard about it. He has 7 patents for hockey equipment. He's working with a 3rd party company to test the equipment which he claims is significantly lighter weight and disperses impact about 30% better than current equipment. Its using a carbon fiber material and apparently the total weight of the protection equipment on a player is like 7 pounds.
I don't know, it sounds really interesting to me as it would be the first major advance in hockey protection technology in my lifetime pretty much. Well the first major one that potentially increases protection anyway. Since he's still in testing phases, its probably hard to get much information about it, but its something that i'm really interested in following.
