I live in Minneapolis now. People here definitely DO think Bettis is HOF'er. Can't say the same about WardDudeMan2766 wrote:I'd say barely as well. And this is in the same situation with Hines. Re: The Official LGP Pittsburgh Sport Radio Thread
Anyways... Here's the Dejan / CBS drama
KDKA @CBSPittsburgh
Should #Pittsburgh be the next city selected to hold a future Super Bowl? http://cbsloc.al/11WbtPn" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; #superbowl #pghnews #KDKA
Dejan Kovacevic @Dejan_Kovacevic
@CBSPittsburgh Wow, guys, seriously? Almost word for word?
Dejan Kovacevic @Dejan_Kovacevic
Thanks to several readers for pointing out what @CBSPittsburgh has done.
Adam Goswick @thegoz85
@Dejan_Kovacevic @CBSPittsburgh Wow. I'm pretty sure they teach about stuff like this in journalism school.
Retweeted by Dejan Kovacevic
Michael C Francis @FrenchEyes34
@Dejan_Kovacevic in most situations people that steal like that go to jail don't they?
Retweeted by Dejan Kovacevic
Dejan Kovacevic @Dejan_Kovacevic
Here's original, guys, my Wednesday column: Why Super Bowl L should be in Pittsburgh http://triblive.com/sports/dejankovacev ... z2JuLzI7Bh" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; … RTs appreciated. @CBSPittsburgh
Dejan Kovacevic @Dejan_Kovacevic
To summarize: @CBSPittsburgh lifts column same day, brags their version getting mega-hits, warns Twitterites "be careful" of accusing them.
Dejan Kovacevic @Dejan_Kovacevic
Was just told by @mikevukkdka I'll no longer be invited on KDKA-TV's 'Showdown' because of challenging @CBSPittsburgh today. Oh, well.
Dejan Kovacevic @Dejan_Kovacevic
Very, very small price to pay for protecting the Trib's work. Besides, Trib forming strong bond with TV partner WPXI, and more to come.

So the next time Dejan takes a shot at the pirates, and someone subsequently takes a shot at the pirates, will DK go on a crusade to "protect the tribs work"?

I dont have the time to go through them, but there were also tweets from people on CBS' side saying Vinnie was on da' Fan talking about this last week or 2 weeks ago, and that the SuperBowl in Pittsburgh was a topic of discussion by different outlets way before Dejan's article.

Re: The Official LGP Pittsburgh Sport Radio Thread
Although DK did that column today ... the concept of could Pittsburgh host a SB is far from an original thought ... it's been brought up on local sportstalk every now and again over the last 10 years or so. Maybe Madden, Colony, Benz, Savran, Junker, Laird, Bendel et al can make it a class action affair. Please.

Good heavens, unless we all love watching a trainwreck, i'd suggest removing DK from your twitter feed. i couldn't handle his BS during the pirate collapse last season, but it seems like that was indicative of things to come from this guy.

It's nuts anymore, because I always for years thought that he was a very good reporter and his articles were pretty well written and thought out. Ever since the Trib, though, he's been worse. Then again, they employ Rossi, so maybe it's a job requirement to be a kook.Troy Loney wrote:Good heavens, unless we all love watching a trainwreck, i'd suggest removing DK from your twitter feed. i couldn't handle his BS during the pirate collapse last season, but it seems like that was indicative of things to come from this guy.

Re: The Official LGP Pittsburgh Sport Radio Thread
I think Bettis eventually gets in. As much as people say he piled on a few years to reach a few milestones, I think he hurt his status by playing several years too many, although there's a side that might argue that by playing longer allowed him to win a Super Bowl.IanMoran wrote:I live in Minneapolis now. Is Ward a HOF'er? Consistent 1000 yard receiver but not elite by any means. Was top 20 in all-time receiving yards, but never really led the league in any specific WR category.
You can argue about his skill as a blocking receiver, but I'm not sure he's a HOFer

Also, that Mike Vikkuuuusda or whoever seems like a top-flight bag.
Ward's numbers are impressive, but I think the passing era in which he played will hurt his chances.(although the Steelers were still a running team well into it).
But it's the Hall of Really Good now anyway (re: Sapp, Warren). Ward just needs to get on NFL Network instead of NBC.

They had a segment about finding poop in their bathroom sink at the FAN this morning. It was actually funny.
