Re: Your irrational pet peeves
Pointless “achievements.” I’m a subscriber to a web site called Crunchyroll, which subtitles and streams Japanese anime TV shows. It’s all legal and done in conjunction with the appropriate Japanese studios and broadcasters. You can watch for free with commercials or pay and watch commercial-free. Love the site. But it awards “achievements” (and sends me emails about them) for such rigorous challenges as “logging in” and “watching a show.” I swear I have something like 90 of them. I blame this on Millennials and the self-esteem movement.

The Millennials haven't effected things like that. Its their parents who created that.Shyster wrote:I blame this on Millennials and the self-esteem movement.

Re: Your irrational pet peeves
True story- on approach to Houston tonight, two- count em- two people got out of their seats. Not talking about right after the flight attendant said we were on final approach either. First was a drunk woman (aforementioned loud talker) who the flight attendant yelled at, and the second was a non english speaker who apparently did not get the message. Pilot came on the PA and said FOLKS IF YOU LOOK OUT THE WINDOW WE ARE ABOUT TO LAND, IF YOU STAND UP NOW YOU WILL BE INJURED.KennyTheKangaroo wrote:not as bad as everyone standing up to get off of the plane. Re: Your irrational pet peeves
I think "i could care less" is, in general, more likely to be accurate than "i couldn't care less".

"couldn't care less" is the way to go.
If you "could" care less, that implies that you still have some "care" left in the tank to go around.

ESPN trying to make me care about Soccer.
Did you know it's 100 days until the World Cup? It was THE LEAD on the ESPN banner and was brought up during PTI more than once. 100 Days! ESPN is pretty insufferable now and PTI is the only thing left that I watch on THE WORLDWIDE LEADER, but I have a feeling I'll have to drop it until NFL training camp fires back up.

Ill bet I haven't spent 10 minutes watching ESPN since they ditched the NHL.dodint wrote:ESPN trying to make me care about Soccer.

Re: Your irrational pet peeves
The Tebow saga is what pushed me from ESPN to places like Deadspin. PTI is alright if you watch it on a DVR. If you skip the NBA segments you can get through it in about 9 minutes.

The Tebow nonsense was unbearable. That being said, I still watch SC every morning.

Re: Your irrational pet peeves
Why not just ESPN in general? 2:50 PM, some dumb woman anchor reported the Pens got Kesler. No one else was reporting it at the time, and it didn't happen.
What kind of Mickey Mouse organization does that?
