Was thinking about Nisky but Girardi has been better longer.
Never thought he would go before coming back to me so I could pair him up again with McDonagh.
Sorry guys, the pick is in. I messed up the offer in my haste. He has 80 already, I have 82 already. It should be 87 and 89 in those spots. I'm just waiting on c2i's re-confirmation before I push it through though...I don't think it would be right to just move along...
Eric Staal had a bit of a down year (by @ 10 pts), but so did his entire team. He's an imposing #1 center in the prime of his career. Coming to Metallurg where he won't have to carry the fate of his organization like a stock car, Eric will remember the joy of crushing his opponents will, and become the dominant force he's been known to be.

I was considering a LOT of people for my pick. Seabrook and Staal were my top two. Staal has also played a little bit of wing in international play, so I was going to have him play alongside Toews (since I think he's a bigger offensive threat than Backes) & move Backes down with Bergeron. I was surprised to see his physical stats (hits, blocked shots) weren't as high as I expected, but at times he can be incredibly dominating in games. I think last year was a bit of an anomaly, and I agree; not having the pressure of carrying a team will make him a lot stronger.
Was expecting him to keep sliding just because no one really needs a #1 center anymore, but that was a really value pick IMO.
Fun fact, Mikey; I was going to draft Bouwmeester until I saw he was left-handed as well; didn't think he would mesh as well with Chara as Johnson would. I think, by himself, Bouwmeester is a better choice than Johnson and definitely one of the best defensemen that was left. Another quality pick in this round.
When Cam Fowler went, I started thinking of guys that should be going ahead of him and Bouwmeester was at the top of that list. Bouwmeester can play his off-side well and I think have meshed well with Chara. Seidenberg, his D partner for both long runs, is also LHS. But I still think EJ is a fine fit there, you went with the conventional, fundamental knowledge. Always a good call.
Getting Bouwmeester after about 20 d-men have been taken...yeah, I'll take that every day...
I'll rate Kovy's team higher if he actually drafts Elisha Cuthbert instead of Phaneuf.
Joking, another good pick if he actually plays as well as he can. Kept seeing his name pop up on the stats when I was looking, but I just remember him making a lot of mistakes too. He could be really good if surrounded by the right people, I think.

He's clueless Joe Jackson. He has limited hockey sense, that's his drawback. So he handles one-on-one defense well. He battles in front of the net well. But when it comes down to trying to figure out what's going to happen next when he's hemmed in his own zone, that's when Carl Gunnarsson (sorry to mention an undrafted, I'm not sure if he'll get taken though) steps in to try to help...upside is there with the hitting and the shot and all that. But he needs a partner that gets him...
Hockey players can wheel, man...Dion Phaneuf has a lot of face to wash, but that didn't stop Elisha...I mean, even Tyler Kennedy's wife is pretty attractive...

That reminds me, Kennedy and his wife at the time fiancé where at a restaurant at Nemacolin Woodlands where my sister worked. She waited on them and my sister said Kennedy's fiancé was so mean to Kennedy and treated him like crap

That sure is a nice photo of him though...
Best picture that I could find that fits well with a "family" board.
