According to my source, Tim Thomas will not even consider opening a conversation with Carolina now.

Carolina is putting together an interesting team. I can't wait to watch them. I feel like we're going to be wishing the Pens gave Semin that contract.

Agree on Semin and agree on the Canes with incredible reluctance. I've railed the Canes as by far the most boring franchise in the league for the past several years. Hard to say that now. Plus, I love Justin Faulk.

Former Blues HC Davis Payne just took a job as assistant coach with LA. I know Payne and Bylsma are long time friends. Wonder if DB tried to bring him onto his staff....just a random thought at 4:55 on Monday...

Same. Have the cap space to sign him to that deal and keep ample flexibility for the deadline.

Alfredsson will return for his 17th season... some of us are getting old. ;)
Good for the senators.

It will be the Alfie retirement tour this year, but your right, it will help them (until he gets hurt).

With this latest piece of drama, and the impending lockout, Doan will sign elsewhere, and it will not be with Pittsburgh unless he realizes that a large salary does not = cup, a smaller one on a great team greatly increases his chances.

Kyle Turris did not deserve his extension, but he did play better for Ottawa than most expected. Not unthinkable he could repeat that year, and improve on it a little.
