lol, I should make it clear that I enjoy winter warmers for the most part. I like the combination of the spice and the malt if it's balanced perfectly, hence why I enjoy GLCA, Sly Fox Christmas Ale etc. I just find Harpoon to be a horrible example of the genre

Is the Grand Cru available anywhere around here? I had it back home awhile ago, haven't seen it since.

If by around here you mean Pittsburgh area, I have no idea. It's brewed in NJ so I would think it would be, but then again I can't easily get Penn Brewery or Iron City out here in SE PA.

Winter is my favorite beer season, and yes, warmers are on my list of favorite beers. I think you'd be hard pressed to find a better season than winter for beer, especially if you're like me and enjoy very dark beers.

Ewwwwww

Even if I don't like a certain beer, I can generally appreciate it for what it's worth. Winter Warmer is the only craft beer I have ever had where I took one sip and dumped the rest down the drain. Overspiced grossness.
There's been two beers that I pushed away.

and some annual release from Weyerbacher that tasted like Jack Daniels. Overkill on the oak just ruined it for me.

Winter Warmer is by far my least favorite beer that I've tried from Harpoon. I could maybe drink one a year, but meh.

I used to share this view. Well, winter and fall being very close. Now that I've broadened my horizons and realized that IPAs are not the only summer beer, i.e., have become more experienced with saisons and kolsches, I like summer quite a bit too. Even though IPAs have year round appeal in western PA, establishments tend to better at including fall/winter offerings. We need to push for expanded summer beer lists too!

summer beers are good in the summer. I obviously wouldn't want to be drinking a winter warmer on a 80 degree 100% humidity day, but I just don't think you can beat Winter for beer season.

By far, my least favorite season has to be spring. I am not really a fan of spring beers at all

Hmm...I have not, but that actually intrigues me. Is that considered a spring beer? I want to try it.

I'm not really a big fan of pilsners and hefeweizens, which I always associated with that season.

Are there even that many beers that are truly dedicated to the spring? Maibocks, what else? I guess I could see Ephemere being best in the spring. And I enjoy saisons in the spring.

It's their spring seasonal, I assume cause it only comes out during the spring each year.

It seems like brewers have been releasing special IPAs during the spring....I could see how you wouldn't have noticed that.

As an IPA lover, I enjoy alot of the special releases that spring has to offer. To me, I love winter. There are a few go to Christmas beers that I love, but nothing beats a Gonzo Imperial Porter or Expedition Stout on a cold night.

I agree with this, mostly because of porters and stouts. I'm not a big fan of the spicier holiday brews, but there are some decent ones. Love ST Winter. I will say though, by the end of winter I'm ready for some lighter beers, and enjoy that as well. Just not quite as much.

IPA peeps, if you find Blue Point Hop Experiment, get it. It's a one time release and definitely worth checking out. Citrusy, piney hops and a smooth, slightly malty finish. Delicious.....
