I like tater tots... but no way I would order them instead of fries at a fast food joint.

I KNEW someone would end up bumping this after I linked to it in the post count thread. Thanks for not disappointing me.

And as I recall, I started this during the first days of the new board as a test of the poll feature.

Tator tots are better than McD's hash browns. But I do detest seasoned fries.

Tater tots are the best, followed closely by waffle fries and shoestring fries.

They all can coexist in our universe. Tater tots are great and filling and are also great that you can grab a handful and pop in your mouth like M&M's. Waffle fries are great for having a big surface area to put ketchup or sweet and sour sauce on them and shoestring fries are great when you just want to much on something in segments, like Twizzlers or string cheese. :D

I'm not a fan of tater tots. I'd get them at lunch in school and most of them were under cooked and raw. I do like hash browns though.

Nothing like getting the Breakfast Smile at Eat n'Park with hash browns and mixing them with my Sunny Side up eggs, ketchup, and hot sauce.

I also like fries. My favorite are the waffle fries from Chick Filet, but the fries from Arby's are a close second. Also like McDonald's fries, but I get the runs from their burgers so I haven't eaten there in a long time.

You mean you guys don't have Sonic Drive-In's? http://www.sonicdrivein.com/menu/favesAndCraves.jsp
Some times I go there for that option alone.
Mmmmm, chili cheese tots....
Doh!

Their alright, but they are no greater than any other potato product just by their sheer tot status.

I like the ones with onions in them best.
YES!!!! All guys can skip this one - recipe exchange!

Jerez, have you tried the casserole?

16 oz Morningstar Farms
(I like Boca brand Frozen Ground Meatless Burger better)
1/2 cup cooked onions (chopped)
10¾ oz can Campbell's 98% Fat-Free Cream Of Chicken Soup
10¾ oz can Campbell's 98% Fat-Free Cream Of Mushroom Soup
(I use two 10¾ oz cans of the Cream of Mushroom, since I'm vegetarian)
7 cups frozen Tater Tots
(You want ("7 cups") the bag actually contains 9 cups)
6 oz low-fat cheddar or colby cheese (1.5 cups)
Directions:

Preheat oven to 350º. Brown Onion with Burger in non-stick pan. Line greased 9x13 pan with frozen tots. Mix the soups with burger/onion mixture. Spread carefully over potatoes. Cover with shredded cheese & bake for 30 minutes. Serves 8.
This is really good with Asiago cheese mixed in with the other cheese too...mmmmmm

what can i say, any mashing (in such an unfortunate way) of an otherwise delicious potato...and then, AND THEN, to give it a faux hash brown exterior...blasphemy....and dont even get me started on the boisterous nature of its cylindrical shape...all around travesty... give me red-skinned mashed any day o' the week...this is like the bastard child of satan in comparison

/tater tot rant

My wife just made some great mashed potatos with some potato skins mixed into the mash. I then sprinkled bleu cheese crumbs on top. I think we need bleu cheese tots.

That's interesting. I think there should be a complete ban on bleu cheese punishable by summary execution, and that NASA's next project should be launching a rocket to send all existing bleu cheese stockpiles directly into the sun. But that's just me.
