Pretty good finalists...hoping for Crosby, but if that Jagr/Pronger debacle is any indication, Ovechkin might beat him by a nose...

Twitter seems to indicate that Crosby was on everyone's ballot and the others had different combinations of Toews, Tavares, and Ovi. I like Sid's chances here.

It's not the good guys I'm worried about...it's the isolated, careless, clueless writers that I worry about. They're a majority as far as I'm concerned...TheHammer24 wrote:Twitter seems to indicate that Crosby was on everyone's ballot and the others had different combinations of Toews, Tavares, and Ovi. Re: NHL Awards Discussion/Griping
It would be disgusting if Ovehckin wins for playing a really good April after ignoring the first three months and then taking May off as well. 1 G and 1A in 7 games and gets shut out at home in game 7. Tavares impressed me a lot this series, if he played like this all year, I don't know because I didn't see a lot of Isles games, then I wouldn't have an issue with him winning the Hart.

Re: NHL Awards Discussion/Griping
Masterton is going to be Harding, probably. Would be nice if Sid won, but overcoming MS to continue playing the sport pretty much guarantees Harding will win.

No Masterton nomination for AO? What a travesty.

I agree, thought I think only playing in 5 games all season might work against Harding.MRandall25 wrote:Masterton is going to be Harding, probably. Would be nice if Sid won, but overcoming MS to continue playing the sport pretty much guarantees Harding will win.

Masterson is about the perseverance to play hockey. Doesn't matter the amount, what Harding is going to through and still be an NHL goalie is incredible.Dickie Dunn wrote:I agree, thought I think only playing in 5 games all season might work against Harding.MRandall25 wrote:Masterton is going to be Harding, probably. Re: NHL Awards Discussion/Griping
Are Selke nominations based off name alone? No offense to the players, but it always seems the same players are nominated year-in, year-out

Generally, but people still want a defensive d-man of the year award...

He could have retired instead of playing those 5 games.Dickie Dunn wrote:I agree, thought I think only playing in 5 games all season might work against Harding.MRandall25 wrote:Masterton is going to be Harding, probably. Thats the only reason Datsyuk should have been up there. Can't disagree with the other two though.JoseCuervo wrote:Are Selke nominations based off name alone? No offense to the players, but it always seems the same players are nominated year-in, year-out

They will make a new award name after him...Gaucho wrote:No Masterton nomination for AO? What a travesty.
Ovechkin Award for the player who doesn't give a **** about playing for 3/4 of the season, plays well near the end to pad his stats, then disappears in the playoffs.
This years nominees are Ovechkin, Parise and Luongo

Adams finalists are Boudreau, Quenneville and MacLean.
MacLean would be my choice. I'm a little shocked that Therrien is not a finalist.

Jack Adams: Boudreau, MacLean, Quenneville.
Stunned Therrien isn't on there, but my vote goes to Boudreau either way. Turnaround would have only been more complete if he did it with...the Habs.![Popcorn :pop:](./images/smilies/popcorn.gif)

Yeah, I'm a little miffed too. But Boudreau isn't a bad choice at all. Anaheim had a terrific regular season with a roster that didn't have a ton of depth (go ahead anyone, name their second line center...). A lot of youth though, and they had a great record in a tough conference. I'm sure FHCMT is 4th.Gaucho wrote:Adams finalists are Boudreau, Quenneville and MacLean.

That would have been my guess.
