We must have been at different games. It was quite noticeable and embarrassing. Similar to the wooing. Sid should never be booed on his home ice. It was uncomfortable at best. Poor guy gets booed enough everywhere else he goes.

@usahockey Bylsma: We're coming home with a bronze medal. After we put this loss behind us we'll be back to do that. #DawnsEarlyLight
Rather bold statement considering what just happened. Finland isn't a pushover.

They're almost as much fun as posts proclaiming major college realignment moves will happen because someone on the internet says he has a source.

I thought both teams, goalies and coaches did about as well as they could in this one - when that happens, I think it's a usually going to be a one goal victory for Canada at this point, unfortunately.

Agreed, if people boo Sid if Canada wins gold at the next Penguins home game, then they're idiots. 2 weeks of national hockey fever shouldnt cloud years of dedication to one city. Mario is Canadian. Sid is Canadian. A majority of the team is Canadian. If the Canadian players arent interested in making a big deal of it, neither should the fans. They are as much a part of Pittsburgh as they are a part of Canada. Get over it and let's move on...Let's Go Pens!

I consider the Stanley Cup to be the big prize. A tournament that happens once every 4 years for bragging rights...meh.
I completely agree. It would have been nice, but I will lose zero sleep over it. Not sure why. Maybe because the Pens are scattered everywhere. The Stanley Cup is where it's at.

I was at the game. The booing was more in jest than anything else. People booed and then started laughing.

Honestly. I don't care. I would never boo Sid. But it does become news: http://prohockeytalk.nbcsports.com/2010 ... ittsburgh/

I blame the loss on one massive thread and not individual GDTs

Additionally, the games remind me of pseudo-teams/pseudo-teammates. Put together for two weeks and then sent back to their respective real teams. Teammates for a flyby and they go back to hating each other on Monday. In a few months, these games will be forgotten (save Canada) until 2018 when everyone will hit the refresh button.

Make a note for 4 years from now. Need to make GDTs for Olympic games.

Okay reading the comments thread below this link reminded me. It was the replay that started all of the loud booing. So what I should have said is lets not show any highlights of Sid smashing America's hopes again. Good thing he didn't score.

So in the grand scheme of things, if the US wins and Sweden loses we will have beaten Czech Rep and Finland in the medal rounds but lost to Canada and they would have beat Slovenia and Finland but lost to Canada as well. Yet they will get the silver.

while that's classic DB, you still have Bergeron lurking. so it would have been really tough to match lines effectively.

Doc said Canada had last change, when I was watching.

How do two different sources have two different answers for the same question?
