I don't really know how anyone can blame Bylsma for this unless you have an axe to grind.
It's kinda pathetic.

I'm pretty sure that this turned out as horribly as it could. We lost Paul Martin. None of the Pens have done anything except Maatta. Canada Sweden Final. Here's to hoping Sweden kills them.

That score certainly doesn't indicate how much better Canada is, but I guess that's been their thing so far.

Pretty good game, but the best team won, IMO.
Gotta root for Sid and Kuni to get the gold.

Well that sucked. But I do think US is going to win the bronze.

Maybe. But the only thing I saw was US players missing passes, losing battles, and failing to sustain pressure, which isn't how they played the first 4 games. 1-0 probably fair, maybe flatters the US a bit. Just couldn't get enough going offensively.
Btw, Crosby's best game. Easily. Which tells you how much stats are worth sometimes.

I don't know but that's generally how the last 4 seasons have ended for the Pens.eww7633 wrote:Maybe. Quick was amazing today, only reason the game looked close.columbia wrote:That score certainly doesn't indicate how much better Canada is, but I guess that's been their thing so far.

Maybe because Canada wouldn't let them execute.eww7633 wrote:This isn't on Bylsma. The players are honestly not executing at all like they did the first 4 games. Not even close.

I would have been happy for Malkin. Crosby? He's had his glory. Not like anyone can say he was the major factor in this win.newarenanow wrote:Russia could have won the gold.pens_srq wrote:I'm pretty sure that this turned out as horribly as it could. Canada is just a better team, other than maybe in net. Its nothing to be ashamed of. The US showed up this tourney despite the result of this game...Just get the bronze now

Ok, so they have to talk up Price now to justify being shut out.

Good game by both teams, as well played as you can get it. Canadian goaltending and defense has been amazing. 3 goals allowed in the entire tournament. Go Canada! Go Sid and Kuni in the gold medal game!

Re: The Official Olympic Hockey Thread
What happened, guys?!
I'm at work and missed the whole thing. It sounds like Orpik validated the ire at his selection, Price was a brick wall, the Laviolette time out didn't work, and the USA team overall picked this game to suck? AND we lost Martin. Does any think that might have made a difference? I guess not, if no one--not even Kessel vanRiemsdyk--could score.
After yesterday's women's game, this...ugh. Forget it.

i think a couple guys on the US team had bad games (kane, for example), but even that can be partly attributed to canada just being better. it wasn't a poor effort, overall. canada just locked it down. big time.
