Unfortunately, that's where I think I am heading. I really don't feel like doing this -- but I think it's the best option.

You could lay it off square on the first board (square with house), then the second board, figure out the angle to cut the board at so it squares it up. Then the rest of the boards will be square and the off-square board will be on the inside,

We're looking to put a back splash up in our kitchen. I haven't measured yet but I would guess it's maybe 20 sqft. Any ideas for a cheap way to do this.

Not really something you want to screw up. But shouldn't be difficult. Watch some youtube videos and see for yourself.

Is there an expensive way to do a 20 sq ft backsplash? Unless you do it out of solid gold.

Lowes has a plastic veneer you can get that glues to your wall and looks like stamped metal. It runs about $19 for an 18"x24" sheet and, you have a selection of different metals and patterns. It cuts with a razor knife or heavy duty scissors and is extremely easy to install. I installed smoked pewter last winter and my wife and I both are happy with the results. It's not as high quality as real metal, obviously, but I've had several people ask if it is -- and it's gotten many, many compliments.

You'll need something with at least 75psi minimum. I'd shoot for a 100 or 125. Depending on what you plan on using it for... building with Pine? Probably good @ 75. Oak/hardwood? 100-125.

With that low of a PSI rating, why did you decide to go pneumatic instead of electric? Just curious.

I demoed my bathroom floor (peel and stick on top of linoleum) and put in 12x24 glazed porcelain tiles last weekend. I'll post pics.

Anyway, I have to grout thus weekend and debating between epoxy and this Home Depot hybrid that's something between sanded and epoxy. Any thoughts on this grout decision?

I'd go with the epoxy for a bathroom. Sanded grout is more porous and isn't ideal for moist places like a bathroom. The down side to the epoxy it is can be a PITA to work with.

wait... did you lay out the floor, make all the cuts, install the whole floor, then take it all back up, then put thinset down then put it all back down?

I'm not sure what you mean by install, but I basically laid it out, made cuts as I went in laying it out. Picked it all up and moved it to the adjacent room, then put it down with thinset. If there's a better way to do it, it quite frankly did not even occur to me.

If the front of that tile isn't completely covered by the toilet, it will look a LOT better not having a grout joint there. It can also increase the stability of the toilet and is more sanitary.

Grouted yesterday. Ended up just doing sanded grout since they didn't have epoxy in store and I was not happy with the reviews on the hybrid premixed stuff.

Just got home with the toilet. Popped it on the flange and the bolts don't come high enough through the holes on the toilet. Ugh. I guess I have to replace the flange?? Did not sign up for this.
