I wonder if they were booing because they wanted Bortz in the lineup, or were they booing that trade in general?Skatingpen wrote:Craig Custance

A few boos here when Robert Bortuzzo announced as a scratch for Blues. Lots of boos when Chris Stewart named as a starter for Wild.

Man the west plays so wide open. Such a huge difference between the east and west playoff hockey. This Blackhawks game is wide open

Montreal with another weak OT winner, this one putting them up 3-0 in the series. I'm pulling for the Habs but it's tough not to feel for Anderson, who otherwise played a great game.

Ottawa looks like they will be a quick exit....credit for making the playoffs but they shouldn't have been in. They are an average team who went on a hot streak.
Would much rather be seeing the Bruins playing the Cans right now...

Habs just too good for the Sens and when all else fails they Have Price playing out of his mind the entire year to bail them out. Looks like a very strong potential SC winner to me. GM Bergevin and HCMT have assembled the kind of team they want and there is 100% buy-in to what they are doing.KG wrote:Ottawa looks like they will be a quick exit....credit for making the playoffs but they shouldn't have been in. Great run by the Sens late but the clock struck midnight on them.

That is a stark contrast to how the West has played for the past five years...though, the Blackhawks have always been kind of an exception to the West anyhow...but yeah, that has been the least interesting series for me, there's just no emotion to it...Skatingpen wrote:Man the west plays so wide open. Gonna beat a dead horse. Despres looks good tonight. Big guy moving the puck, making good plays and hitting people. Sigh.

Big Buff continues his dirty ways:

we've seen this fish before:

imo the league needs to do something about this before we end up with another Bertuzzi incident.

Almost single-handedly responsible for the loss last night with his "defensive" play...brutal player...

Re: Other NHL games 2014-2015 season
I said that if the League actually wants to clean itself up ... give him 5 games. The hit was after a goal when a player does not expect to be hit. The player was not able to defend himself. The player was looking the other way, hit from behind. The player could have hit his face/jaw off of the ice causing serious injury... Send a message!

Am I in some dead zone of America? USA once again is showing law and order when it should be caps isles.
I live in Delaware and the Philly game is on comcast sports net so if usa is blacking out the game, I should get it locally. This is so flippin annoying.

They won't send a message because they never do send a message. 2 minute penalty is all you'll get.Jim wrote:I said that if the League actually wants to clean itself up ... give him 5 games. Re: Other NHL games 2014-2015 season
What a game in Chicago! Both teams laying it all on the line. Both goalies making huge saves. Props to Nashville for putting up a great fight without Weber in the lineup. Can't see the winner of this series NOT making it to the Cup finals. The pace of play is just fantastic period after period.
Hilarious moment in OT also when Rinne took 5+ minutes to finally find the puck stuck in his pads side pocket. Refs were doing a full patdown of him and he was very close to recreating the strip scene from Slapshot....all in an attempt to find the puck. Refs wouldn't let play continue until he did.

Typical Caps hockey. Play just to the stupid side of reckless. Fingers crosses for that "message sending" suspension I keep begging for...

Going to beat that horse some more. Despres has had another good game. Twenty minutes and an assist. Some big hits.
Those who say he hasn't been good with the Ducks haven't been watching the Ducks.

seeing as how Lovejoy was flourishing there as well it makes you wonder if it's simply a matter of the Ducks having a better system?profpolisci wrote:Going to beat that horse some more. Despres has had another good game. Twenty minutes and an assist. Some big hits.

The east only has 3 players in the top 20 in scoring so far in the playoffs...... I know it is not that large a separation, but that is telling.

What a physical 1st period Caps\Isles. I'm afraid the Caps are gonna win this. Isles have to stay out of the box. Tooo many dumb penalties.
