When books, TV, and movies screw up gun stuff, especially things that could be easily looked up. Case in point: In the Stephen King Dark Tower book The Drawing of the Three, there’s a scene where Roland (who is controlling the body of Jack Mort), goes into a gun shop to buy ammunition. He looks through a catalog of cartridges and picks out “.45 Winchester” cartridges as appropriate for his trademark sandalwood-gripped revolvers. The only cartridge named “.45 Winchester” is the .45 Winchester Magnum, which is a lengthened-and-strengthened version of the .45 ACP released in 1979 for use only in semi-auto pistols. It wouldn’t fit revolvers. There are two old-west revolver cartridges that would be applicable. One is the .45 Colt, and the other is the .44-40 Winchester, also called the .44 WCF. Neither was ever called “.45 Winchester.”

Surprised you didn't mention the whole "Don't run out of ammo until it's relevant to the plot" problem.

Earlier this summer, I was a major resource for another person in my company, and basically made myself available any time I was needed to assist with system tasks and programming.

Now, I need to have a brief conversation with said person to get the go ahead to go through with a project I have a deadline on, and I can't get a response. It's literally like a 10 minute conversation, I am willing to do all of the manual work. Aggravating.

perhaps, you could invent some sort of hot pepper ring sieve that would cast out the abomination end pieces to leave just the bounty of acceptable and delicious rings?
Or, they could just not include them in the jars when they chop them in the sweat shop processing plant. Pretty sure they take care not include the hoof with the steak when the steer meets his maker.

i think "Eismann's hot pepper ring sieve" is the way to go on this one.

this decision is final.

No, you're right about that. People have made millions out of obscure stuff like this. I'm on it.

Of course, since there's a record of your involvement, we'll have to decide how to split the caysh...or otherwise eliminate this problem.

i will relegate all creative input in exchange for (2) of these devices--free with lifetime, hassle-free warranties. also, if you include any bonus gifts (such as a jar opener, magic bullet, etc), i get a couple of those as well.

I would also mandate that ron popeil be the one that sells your device--that dude has infomercial swag and class. hes the cartier of impulse purchasing.

Weird Al wrote a song about RP, called "Mr. Popeil" back in '83.

Speaking of the facebook. In case anyone is interested about 4 or 5 people's kids I know did something or said something today not at all out of the ordinary of what any kid says or does every day. Facebook is invaluable.

People that sit on the corner of my desk. I have a big desk, so I can see it being inviting. It's a desk, not a chair.
