There is so much material in those books I can see 3 seasons alone from them. So if it bleeds in to make a better story then that's fine.

The entire Theon story from the show was never written in the books so there's still stuff out there too that Martin may have thought of after the fact to add in or explain more.

Yeah, there is a ton of material, but not all of it is necessarily worth bringing to the screen. They are probably still a couple seasons away from really having to worry, but I think things will get dicey if WoW doesn't come out in the next year or so. Certainly Season 5 won't be a problem, but 6 might be depending on how much they decide to condense Feast and Dance.

Even if they don't need to touch on WoW in S6, given how long it takes Martin to write books, there will be issues sooner or later if it's delayed much beyond that.

There's also the talk of HBO wanting to aim for 7 seasons in which case they pretty much would have to finish up 4/5 by the end of S5 and that leaves a season each for the last 2 books.

Hopefully they don't end up screwing the pooch at the end to try to shoehorn it into a pre-set number of seasons like that though.

Martin needs to quit all the side projects he's doing and focus on the main books. He's going to face some serious fan backlash if the show outruns the books.

I think it's basically a foregone conclusion that the show will outrun the books, no? Apparently Martin has (or plans on) telling the writers how the series is suppose to end. It would be strange to see the show's interpretation of the end of the series before Martin's himself...though he would undoubtedly be heavily involved in the last season as far as writing goes...or maybe he's using the show to light a fire under his rear. Who knows.

I believe you're talking about the Red Viper, but can't rewatch the trailer right now.

That wasn't how I pictured the Red Viper, but I'll just have to wait and see how it turns out.

I was expecting someone different too but nothing as bad as Daario was last season.

Someone who looked like a younger Allen Rickman as Snape.

They have a new Daario for this season. Considering in the book he had blue hair, a trident beard, and yellow cothing - yeah they were way off the mark.

He was also supposed to be a good looking guy. The physical description and the one i gave are mutually exclusive. pop
