Henrik Samuelsson (Ulf's son) of Arizona is getting his NHL debut against the team Ulf coaches, the Rangers.
Kinda neat.

Weird game happening in Columbus. Three goals in the first 5 minutes. Dubinsky got a strange injury after scoring a goal. Took an accidental(?) rising hip check from someone that had gone down to block a shot. Now Subban limping.

Andrew Cogliano played his 600th consecutive game the other day. He hasn't missed a single game since making his NHL debut for the Oilers in 2007.

I feel like the Isles and Rangers refuse to lose. Frustrating. But I suppose if it keeps a fire under our guys' arses, then I can live with it.

This game's been pretty fun to watch (NSH vs. MIN).
Meanwhile, Toronto's beating Philly 3-1 (Philly just scored at the tail end of a 5 on 3).
--- Edit: Make that 3-2, another power play goal.

TOR was outshooting the Flyers something like 31-9 at the end of 2 and winning 2-0. I'll throw things if TOR blows this, especially because the Hawks laid it on the Panthers, who are waiting their shot of Jagrmeister.Avyran wrote:This game's been pretty fun to watch (NSH vs. MIN).

Oh, yay, it's 3-2 TOR with over 5 minutes left in reg. I have zero faith the Leafs will hold on.
GO, LEAFS, GO!
Alriiiiight they did it. But if Mason had played the entire game, the Flyers would've won. They outshot the Leafs 49-17.

I don't know why anyone thinks the Flyers have a chance of making the playoffs. Florida has a game in hand against them, and Boston has two. More importantly, Ottawa is only one point behind Philly, with *three* games in hand, yet no one talks about Ottawa making the playoffs...

Re: Other NHL games 2014-2015 season
Good point. Ottawa is the team to watch, and they are my pick for the 8th spot. The reason: hidden vigorish. Ottawa is the only team out of the four with a positive goal differential, and other than Calgary, they are the only team with a positive goal differential that is not in the top 8. Boston is even, the Flyers are under water, and Florida is a ridiculous -27. Florida has played no less than fifteen overtime games, and got the extra point six times and has nine "loser" points. This is a fluke, and Ottawa is the best team out of the four right now (PHI, FLA, BOS) so they are the team to watch. Water will eventually find its level. As for the Flyers though, never totally count out a team whose CEO owns like 80% of the NHL and the TV market.Sigwolf wrote:I don't know why anyone thinks the Flyers have a chance of making the playoffs. As far as I'm concerned, it's not a worry that the Flyers will make the playoffs; it's more a general desire of insurance that they won't make it simply because I dislike them.

Pens have 2 games with them at home near the end of the season. It would be nice to slam that coffin shut, nail it, and bury it.Lt. Jagr apparently hasn't had an immediate impact on ticket sales. Granted, they're facing Buffalo, and it's an odd start time (3 p.m.), but that building is empty.
