I thought I read on twitter that they count season ticket holders are paid attendance regardless if they show or not.
Standard operating procedure for most of the sports world. It's called "tickets distributed." Turnstile count is not good PR, especially for teams with poor attendance.
Pens do this also (or so it would seem), since they just had their 335th consecutive sellout the other night, yet there were plenty of seats unused.

Correct. This is because a sell out simply means that all tickets were sold. You could technically play in front of an empty arena and still have a sell out. The Pens work around this with student rush tickets.

Rick Nash will score 100 goals this season. As I write this, Chiquitita comes up on shuffle.

The Sharks/Capitals game is my early game tonight. Orpik just got beat by John Scott or roofed one on Holtby to end his night and give the Sharks a 3-0 lead...first period isn't half old in the Phone Booth...

Rick Nash won't keep up this pace. He'll get lazy around November.

NBCSP really hit the jackpot with this BUF/CAR game.

Was going to ask the bar I'm playing trivia at to throw on NBCSN until I found out *this* was the game they decided to show.

Kinda surprised Kuznetsov has been demoted to the 4th line center for the Caps. Though that's the least of their worries.

Hard to say what number will be bigger -- people watching this game or those in attendance in Florida last night. Fortunately, there's baseball tonight so there's NBCSN's built-in excuse for a bad rating.

As much as it sucks that the Eagles are a likely Super Bowl contender, I am enjoying the Flyers' start to the season.

Let's hope it continues for the rest of the season, unlike last year.

2010 draft really starting to come into its own this year.May turn out to be one of the better forward classes in a while.
Hopefully Beau B. gets it going too..

Flyers tie with a few minutes left in regulation. Showing some fight. 40 SOG vs. Andersen.

Pens have to stay out of the box when they play the Flyers. Their PP is one of the brighter spots for them so far this year; it's gotten them 2 out of their 3 goals tonight.

Whoever chose the camera angles during that flyers shootout should never be allowed to choose anything in any capacity.
