Washington has lost their last 2, and is 3-6-1 in their last 10. I'm hoping they decide to get serious against the Islanders tonight and Penguins on Thursday, to go into the playoffs on an winning run.

--If ANA loses tonight, loses tomorrow against WPG, and PIT wins Thursday against WSH, the Penguins would move to 9th overall
--If ANA loses tonight, but wins tomorrow vs WPG, regardless of what PIT does vs WSH, the Penguins cannot finish above 8th (ANA wins tiebreakers).
--The Flyers can no longer help Pittsburgh move in the draft order. If the Flyers win against Buffalo, and Penguins lose against WSH, PIT and PHI will be tied, but the Penguins win tiebreakers.
--To move down two spots to 6th overall, the Penguins need to lose vs WSH, have Buffalo beat the Flyers, and Seattle beat LA tonight.

Thanks, looks like 7, 8, 9, 8th if they win and the Flyers win. Rangers need to lose and Islanders need to win and they'll get 10th or so. Two top 10 picks would be a nice jumpstart, though the Rangers can still give up their 2026 pick.

Flyers can't overtake the Penguins anymore. If they win in any fashion they would be equal in points with Pittsburgh, but won't be able to win the first tiebreaker: regulation wins. Penguins have 23, Flyers 21.

Buffalo has 28 regulation wins. If they score one more point than Pittsburgh, Sabres finish ahead in the standings.

As of right now, Penguins are in 8th overall spot. A quick look at how the other teams impact the Penguins final position (before the lottery):

--An Anaheim win vs the Jets tonight means the Penguins can not move any higher than their current 8th spot, as they'd be 3 points behind Anaheim. An Anaheim loss and Pittsburgh win tomorrow against WSH will drop Pittsburgh to 9th overall.

--BUF can pass us with a win or OT/SO loss to PHI on Thursday, along with a Penguins loss to WSH. An OT/SO loss would put them tied with Pittsburgh in points (assuming a PIT loss), and BUF owns the tiebreakers. This would put Pittsburgh at 7th overall.

-PHI can no longer help us. A win vs BUF and a Penguins loss ties PIT and PHI, but Penguins win the tiebreakers.

-SEA losing to LA last night means the Penguins can no longer obtain the 6th overall spot.

If the Pens win in regulation, yes they will move to 9th as both teams would be tied in points and regulation wins, but the Penguins would win with the ROW tiebreaker.

If the win comes in OT or SO, they will stay 8th.

I have a feeling JR wanted to move on from Sullivan and do a quick retool, keep icks and let younger guys compete. I think if he does they maybe have a couple of down years then are at least able to compete the last 2-3 years and who knows what happens.
