Press-down hand soap bottles.
Nozzle does not return to full height.
Need to double-smack the thing to get acceptable amount of soap to come out, then pull up the nozzle.
Dammit.

Old people in banks. They never have a quick transaction, and want to chat. Not good for depositing a damn check and gtfo.

So adding sugar or corn syrup to pasta makes it akin to crappy "catsup", then I agree.Willie Kool wrote:HUNT'S CATSUP INGREDIENTS:slappybrown wrote:I'm not reading that as "in the sauce." That would be fine in the correct amount, though personally not a huge fan

No sugar - but lots of corn syrup...

Let's add haircuts where you are still waiting for your 1pm "appointment" at 1:18. Did I go to the doctor's office by mistake?

Who uses a teller? There are these new things called ATM's where you can deposit checks and get money. It's all Star Trek like...OutofFoil wrote:Who doesn't try to chat up some of the "nicer" tellers?

This day is really dragging. I got to work a skosh earlier than usual, but it feels like I've been here a full day.

There was a guy at the gas station yesterday that hit all the marks. Old guy, bought $45 worth of cigarettes, paid with a check, only one register, clerk couldn't work the check scanning machine, clerk only had one arm. It was the perfect storm of agonizing wait. The line was about 8 deep by the time the time the manager wandered by and told the clerk to just enter the routing number manually.the wicked child wrote:Old people in banks. Milk is also much cheaper in Ohio.Geezer wrote:This is not so much a peeve but a headscratcher. Cheapest gas I've seen in Lawrence and Mercer counties is $2.68. I was in Trumbull county Ohio less than 10 miles (from Mercer co.) and most cheap gas was $2.24 and one was $2.22. My buddy was over near Kent Ohio and it was $2.15. It's always been about a quarter cheaper but not half a buck.

My Sirius radio renewed today and I was charged $11.13 for U.S. Music Royalty Fee. Um, what? Why should I pay the royalty fee and not Sirius, which is the company profiting from the music?

Yeah, I mentioned that when I restructured my plans last month. It's a bit ****, and with Howard doing fewer and fewer shows it might be podcasts only here soon.

I've started using 'figuratively' hyperbolically. I hope it spreads and makes it to the IPP thread before it gets to 500 pages.

No, it isn't. It's usually people who forget what words mean or never knew in the first place.MalkinIsMyHomeboy wrote:People that freak out when someone uses "literally" "incorrectly". Its called hyperbole or sarcasm, look it up people.

And why is "incorrectly" in quotes? Are you saying that it's not actually incorrect to do so?

If you think most people that use it incorrectly are doing it for hyperbole or to be sarcastic, you literally don't know what you're talking about.MalkinIsMyHomeboy wrote:People that freak out when someone uses "literally" "incorrectly". Its called hyperbole or sarcasm, look it up people.

Re: Your irrational pet peeves
Not getting gift receipts with your Christmas gifts.
Happens every year with my family. We are in the middle of opening presents and someone goes "If you don't like it, you can return." "Do you have the gift receipt?" "Aw no! I forgot!"
The same thing happens every year and they don't learn.
The people that say that are the ones who ask for a specific Christmas list of things and then they stray from the list. Its not a cost thing as sometimes we have received gifts that were more expensive than what was on the list.
When you stray from the list you probably buy something that we didn't really want or need and now it has to be returned. But no receipts present.
So this year we have about $150 worth of stuff to return to Target because that is where the gifts came from. But they have a $70 return limit per 365 day period per driver's license if you don't have a receipt/method of payment. Since these were gifts, we don't have any of that. Target split the returns between my wife and I's driver's licenses and we were stuck with a $10 item that we can't return. Now we can't return any gifts to Target until like December 29 2015. Which will be hard because the same thing happens for the kid's birthday presents, so I guess we will have to sell those or hope we get receipts or try our luck at Wal Mart or Toys R Us.
