Ok. I don't listen to much radio myself. Most of what I hear is when I'm visiting my family since my mother has sports radio on 24/7... and never heard any ads there. Plenty of other bad ones in its place of course.

People who don't understand what irony and call things "ironic" when they are just coincidental.
Ironically, Alanis Morrissette has no idea what irony is. I'd like to think that was the point and the whole song was actually about misuse of the word "ironic," but I doubt it.
Edit: lol

persistence of this car salesman. i submitted an inquiry online as i wanted to see what the trade in value i could get for my car was. within 10 seconds the guy from the dealership emailed me. i sent him a very nice note back saying thank you for touching base, appreciate the customer service, but i am not in the market for a new car. i just did it to see my trade in value. when i am interested in a new vehicle, i will be sure to contact you back. that was about 2 months ago. he emails me 2-3x/week asking if i have re-considered.

Re: Your irrational pet peeves
That happened to me last spring with a motorcycle dealer. I was just looking for the future and we traded some info, told him I was just looking, that I was probably going to be buying this Spring. Started emailing weekly and called maybe twice a month, fast forward a 4 months and I get laid off, I haven't heard from him since I told him thatLetang Is The Truth wrote:persistence of this car salesman. i submitted an inquiry online as i wanted to see what the trade in value i could get for my car was. within 10 seconds the guy from the dealership emailed me. i sent him a very nice note back saying thank you for touching base, appreciate the customer service, but i am not in the market for a new car. i just did it to see my trade in value. when i am interested in a new vehicle, i will be sure to contact you back. that was about 2 months ago. he emails me 2-3x/week asking if i have re-considered.

That would be extremely annoying. I can see if he followed up a few weeks later, but to be called/emailed 2 or 3 times a week, that is bad business IMO.

Re: Your irrational pet peeves
When people use phrases or words that they wouldn't actually string together if they didn't hear the phrase from others. I get that that's how we learn the language, but sometimes this bothers me:
"In and of itself" - No regular person would come up with that phrase on their own. I don't even know what the heck it's supposed to mean. Why do you need the "of" section?
"It is what it is" - Senseless.
"At the end of the day" - Not a bad one, just overused.
"To be honest" - Just lie to me instead of using this one.
Googled for more examples and got one of my all time most hated:
"Everything happens for a reason" - Not only patently wrong, but hard on the ears too.

Re: Your irrational pet peeves
I think everything does happen for a reason, and it doesn't mean in the religious sense. That one is especially helpful at identifying what to fix when stuff goes all whack, yo.
