Re: The Playoff Race / The Lottery Race

That's where we will have to agree to disagree. Dubas didn't trade for Karlsson, resign Jarry, sign Graves and Accari for this team to miss the playoffs. All of those moves were win now moves and they have all proven to be poor decisions. Because of those initial moves Dubas made there is a zero ...

Re: 2024-2025 Season Random Penguins Fodder

I think it was DK who basically slammed Puljujarvi and said he did absolutely nothing in his last stint in Pittsburgh. He averaged 12 minutes a game, or something close, and came up empty. But I felt that he knew he was on an extremely short leash and didn't play as free as he did earlier in the ...

Re: 2024-2025 Season Random Penguins Fodder

Puljujarvi I don't know enough details to know why he was ping-ponged around this organization. Earlier this season, he sure looked like a solid Bottom 6 player to my eyes. He looked better than several who are in the lineup night after night after night. There may be specifics to his story but ...

The Steelers drafted 2 QBs in 2022 and both have Super Bowl rings.

Neither with the Steelers. Well done franchise.

Anyone know how skilled Blomqvist is viewed at playing the puck in general over his career? Blomqvist has decent puckhandling ability https://lastwordonsports.com/hockey/2020/05/16/joel-blomqvist-scouting-report/ Thanks. Good report. I search for a few names and this looks like a great website ...

Re: Official GDT: Pens @ Flyers 2/8/25

When you come out to play a puck and shoot it into two players you are going to create a bad bounce, Blomqvist wasn’t unlucky there. Yeah, it was a bad decision which he made worse by hesitating. No biggie, a coachable situation and something he’ll get better at. Classic rookie mistake, I agree he w ...

Re: Penguins Trade Deadline: Buyers and Sellers?

I think that's where my main frustration with Sullivan lies. Well, maybe it's two things tied for first place but they dovetail into the same thing: He A.) loveslovesloves! his marginally talented vets. "Great on the PK, plays the right way...blah,blah,blah," and, B.) Because of that deep love he ...

Re: Penguins Trade Deadline: Buyers and Sellers?

Saw a tweet the Athletic is reporting that the Pens are looking to move Beauvillier, Hayes and Lizotte (hopefully that's not a complete list). I don't like the way Sullivan has deployed Lizotte at all. When he was healthy, he was playing solid 3C for us, then he gets moved to 4C for no apparent ...

Re: Penguins Trade Deadline: Buyers and Sellers?

Acciari having any manner of ntc nmc. HI-larious. Literally sums up all the problems with contracts and nmc clauses. **** absurd. 100% agree with this. The amount of NTC and NMC given out anymore is ridiculous. The Spittin Chiclets guys were talking about the expected rise of the salary cap these ...

Servalli said that the Oilers tried to acquire DOC last week. Guess once the Rangers/Canucks trade went through and they got the 1st round pick, KD made sure to make the Vancouver trade happen to get that 1st pick. The value extracted for two impending UFA's was very solid! I'm not all that ...

Re: Penguins Trade Deadline: Buyers and Sellers?

Grzelchyk and Beauvillier are my two picks to go as well. Acciari and guys like Heinen have term remaining and would be a harder sell. Maybe next year's deadline for them. I like Lizotte and hope they keep him but, like with pretty much anyone not named Crosby, if a great deal arises for him, then ...

Heard on 32 Thoughts, Freidman was questioning if KD is going to keep the Rangers 1st round pick or flip it for a younger now player. He said many GM's value the Rangers pick. We will see. He didn't speculate as to what players KD could target with it. I also wonder if he could get a 1st round pick ...

Re: Penguins Trade Deadline: Buyers and Sellers?

I read a rumor about Grzelcyk. They said three teams are showing interest—Winnipeg, Tampa, and Colorado. The expected return is a 3rd round pick. He's looked at as a cheaper option than other defensemen currently available. I would imagination that he's probably gone and maybe Beauvillier. Other t ...

Re: Official GDT: Pens vs Devils 2/4/25

This lineup has to be one of the most depressing in recent memory. Depends on how you want the season to end. Top 5 pick and this lineup looks great and WBS is playing well. Yeah don't get me wrong I'm all for fielding the worst team possible. I'd move Rakell, Bunting, Accari, and Karlsson tomorrow ...
