Re: 2024-2025 Season Random Penguins Fodder

I don't know if it amounts to anything, but Ivan Provorov is a UFA and I've come across multiple rumor mentions that linked Pittsburgh to him. Whether Karlsson is dealt or not, we definitely need a top pairing LHD. It probably won't happen but it is something to ponder. He's only 28 and I don't ...

Re: 2024-2025 Season Random Penguins Fodder

Unless there is way to moves Graves' contract, I would not mind going into next season with the LD as it is: Shea, Pickering, Kolyachonok and Graves. Let POJ and Grzelcyk walk. Anyone else you bring in there is a huge chance that Pickering is blocked because Sully loves his veterans and Pickering is ...

Definitely isn't. He played less than 14 minutes. Every other defenseman player at least 19.

Re: Official GDT: Pens vs Isles 3/18/25

I really hope Grzelcyk doesn't return next season. He would be in the lineup every night and likely block Pickering from transitioning full time to the NHL level. Shea, Graves, Kolyachonok are LDs already under contract for next season. Shea was just extended, Graves is unlikely to be moved ...

Re: Official GDT: Pens vs Isles 3/18/25

Let’s watch another Sully lead team try to defend a 2 goal lead. Priceless. I think the Pens have given up the most 3rd period goals in the league. They are indeed last in 3rd period goals allowed with 91 until tonight - 93 now. San Jose is next with 89. Penguins allowed 66 goals in the 1st period, ...

Glass came to Pittsburgh this year, scored four goals in 51 games while here. - 10 December (COL, 6-2 L) - 17 January (BUF, 5-2 W) - 20 January (LAK, 5-1 W) - 2 March (TOR, 5-6 OTL) Then he goes to New Jersey and scores in his first game there, to the chagrin of posters. Imagine how Leafs feel ...

Florida has 18 games remaning this regular season so he can't play until game 3 of the first round. Ekblad is an UFA this summer, so there might be an effect on his future plans.

WBS with another productive game, beat Belleville 8-3. Poulin had a hattrick and an assist for 4 points. Koivunen had a goal and 2 assists. McGroarty, Broz and Ponomarev each had a goal. Murashov in net, Larsson as backup. Nieto keeps making a case to reclaim his NHL roster spot with another assist ...

Re: The Playoff Race / The Lottery Race

Seattle looking like they'll get 2 points against Philly up 4-1 Seattle did indeed win 4-1. They are now tied with the Penguins in points with 58, but still have one game in hand and also hold the first tiebraker, with 22 regulation wins over 16 for Pittsburgh. Only team with fewer regulation wins ...

Re: Cody Glass to NJ

This is an interesting trade. A 3rd for Glass would have been fine but adding the 2 prospects is interesting. Stillman was a 2021 1st round pick, while he’s not having a great year he’s still ranked the Devils 6-8 best prospect. He skates well and plays physical. Could be a bottom six add sooner tha ...

Wonder if KD was offered peanuts for Gryz and he felt it wasn't worth it. Gryz is a small D man who was scratched regularly in the playoffs last season. I believe it is a mistake. I think that 2025 4th from Philly should be shown as going to Boston, not Pittsburgh. That pick is listed in the TOR to BOS part of the deal. It isn't shown in the TOR to PIT deal. The official statement on the Penguins website says Penguins acquired Dewar and Timmins for ...
