Pustinen definitely has some skills to play on this team.

I still like the days when Darius Kasparaitis would hip check the dude who boarded Smith and take out his knee.

They let the other team enter the zone uncontested and set up everytime like they’re on the PK. I guess that’s how the want to run their team defense? Seems idiotic to be that passive.IntangibleBeer wrote: ↑Thu Jan 11, 2024 8:24 pmYeah, Jarry has been strong. D has been awful, slot has been a cruising zone for the Canucks.Zalapski33 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 11, 2024 8:20 pm Jarry is keeping them alive. They are hanging him out to dry here.
How was that not a Penalty for knocking the stick out of Pettersson's hand??

Agreed. All 3 Goals allowed was due to that approach.E-Ramone wrote: ↑Thu Jan 11, 2024 8:29 pmThey let the other team enter the zone uncontested and set up everytime like they’re on the PK. Nice slow motion replay of Hughes seeing he played the puck over the glass.

He would be effective on any line kind of how DOC can be too. There are not 12 forwards who deserve to play over him in the entire organization.lemieuxReturns wrote: ↑Thu Jan 11, 2024 8:27 pm Pustinen definitely has some skills to play on this team.

Strange one of the top teams in the league, in Vancouver, is 23rd in the league in PK.

Is it too early in the season to lock up Reirden for another 4-5 years?

Jarry kept this game in reach with his play, the Goalie change worked.
Letting the Canucks fly into the zone is a disaster, just some terrible breakdowns early in that Period.
Sid once again with greatness on display. He had a strong finish to that session.
Whatever words to use to describe the PP and its damage to this team are beyond anything used on this Planet.
Vancouver looked like they had less energy late in the 2nd.Pens need to keep getting on loose pucks and taking advantage of the lack if agility of those bigger D.

Vancouver's 3rd game in 4 nights. Grind them down hopefully.

Puustinen with a team low in ice time so far (besides injured Smith). 8 minutes. It's like Sully doesn't want him to produce. We need a goal. Play an offensive depth player.

The only thing the powerplay has done that worked is to put Puusty out there, and put Malkin down low.Zalapski33 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 11, 2024 9:13 pmKept sending back to Letang who tries the same method of trying to draw the defender in to him.Too cute.Just doesn't work.
Neither of these things have you seen tonight.
