How about another option: he's trying to figure out what's going on. Lord, the petulance here when things don't go 100% smoothly is unbelievable.

Whilst the current lines are verging on ridiculous, I voted declining competence. I've had questions before but never to the extent i have recently. Sully didn't always construct lines how i might have liked but the results were there - now it's like throwing **** at a wall to see what sticks then scraping what stuck off and throwing it again...

Some things seem to be working them get changed literally several times before, during and after each and every game.

How can anything work if you give players 3 minutes of ice time to gel and form chemistry before spinning the wheel of line disbelief?

It also seems as though Sully is struggling to make sensible decisions based on a player's on ice contributions.

What did Cole and Oleksiak do that was worse than anything JJ does repeatedly, or conversely why JJ is gifted a spot and granted increased ice for being consistently appalling.

Why march the same group out time and again after an embarrassment of SH goals against? Zero repercussions.

Teddy comes up, is one of the most noticeable guys out there for good reasons despite playing out of his natural position and earns a big box of nachos.

I'm going to change my vote to incomprehensibly arrogant incompetence.

He's the Coach!
If they continue to lose, he will be the one out of a job. It is the players who are ones- not putting out 100% effort during all games.

If he was running the same lines out game after game and the results are what we currently see, then people would be complaining that he is doing nothing.

Yes he's the coach.

Yes, if the lines were set with same results people would complain.

The issues are the constant lime juggling and creating line ups that don't seem to work because players are not in their regular positions. There's insufficient time to adjust and build chemistry or to fairly judge any given lime combination.

Failing to put in 100% effort is on the players. Failure to utilise a player's skill set to its fullest potential to the overall detriment of the team is on the coach.

Ceased caring. Sully will play line blender when it suits him.

It cooks my noodle a bit that, with three top-9 RWs, he shifts more and more people to there from C and LW. Places where we need people that can, you know, C and LW. Earlier this season, the argument was very clearly that we don't make room for any particular RW because we're loaded there and shouldn't have to make room to accomodate anyone. Ah never mind.

He can do as he pleases, being HC. You know, except scratch JJ and Pettersson.

I know I need to get over it, but his handling of Reaves still grinds me. "Yeah Jim, you gave me Reaves, but I am not playing him, so there."

You can guess how I voted.
