Let the complaining begin. I wish they didn't need to give up one of their better prospects in the deal, but it was obvious that Rutherford wanted Zucker.

A lot of people are going to be mad at the cost. I am surprised GMJR gave up Addison, but not surprised that is what it took to complete the deal.

My personal opinion is Zucker will be a Tanev type acquisition. One that many people question the cost, but he fits the system very well. Hope he proves me right.

We had about seven pages complaining about the Tanev signing, I'm sure this trade will eclipse that one easily.

Me too because I think this is going to be more along the lines of Brassard. Not that he won’t fit, but that he won’t help the Penguins get past the 2nd round.

Getting rid of Addison is how we got rid of the full $4M of Alex. This also leaves door open to sign another forward. Maybe Toffoli?

Zucker is under contract (5.5M AAV) for three more years after this season. Galchenyuk is UFA.

18 was did not fit at all, but helped in this trade.

Good luck to the new guy.

GMJR was never going to get Kreider from nyr.

Fair trade by JR with his boy Guerin. With the addition of Marino and POJ and how much they like Pettterson maybe made Addison expendable.

JR clearly views Zucker as a long term legit top 6 piece to the team.

Here we go!

You’re getting 3 years of a guy that scored 22, 33, 21 goals, and is on pace for 25 this year. He did it on a pretty crumby team too.

Some teams give up a 1st and a prospect for a deadline rental. Heck Ryan Hartman went for a 1st at the deadline.

I’m not saying I love the deal, just putting it into perspective. Term costs a bit more.

True but Letang isn't getting any younger, and Schultz is moving on next season, so there would have been an opening for a RHD in the not too distant future.

Capwise he helped. Still have space with LTIR on Guentzel to make additional move(s).

Don't get me wrong, I think Zucker will fit Sully's system to a T. And $5.5 million is going to be tough to fit the next 3 years. But it's not outlandish like a Skinner contract. Bjugstad and Schultz are definitely gone after the season though.

Initial reaction was that what we gave too much.
Rethinking this now.
Getting Zucker for 3-1/2 years is a plus but don't forget getting rid of Galchenyuk's salary.
Is this worth Addison and a 1st???
Hmmm.
