Would your answer have changed if the pens won in 2013?

Nope.

What's better than one Stanley Cup? Two Stanley Cups.

From a personal opinion standpoint, while it's good to win for your country, Olympic hockey is 6 or 7 all star teams playing one another with a few bad teams at the bottom of the standings. Not to say that if the US won I wouldn't be happy, but the inclusion of NHL players and superstars makes for exciting hockey with a predictable ending.

Agreed. If you're talking about a team of amateurs from the USA playing for Olympic gold, that's different. That would be #1.

As it stands, I would certainly root for a pro-hockey USA olympic team, but the Stanley Cup comes first.

If we're talking about a bunch of NBA baboons playing dunk-a-thon in the Olympics, then wake me up when it's over.

I voted gold medal. Not being alive for the other two golds they won, it's just something I want to experience. I've watched my sports teams win 3 cups and 2 Super Bowls, would love to see U.S. Ice Hockey win the gold.

Where do you think I got that idea? It wouldn't be the same though, you'd have guys finishing up college or just out of college playing.

I want Arminia Bielefeld to not get relegated way more than I want Germany to win the World Cup.

I'm gold medal all the way man.

I've always considered myself a hockey fan first, a pens fan second.

I can't remember ever being higher than when Parise tied that game, or ever being lower than when Sid won it.

The whole country never forgets a gold medal. In ten years, if somebody asks a hockey fan what year the US won the gold, 2014 would be their answer in half a second. If in ten years somebody asked who won the cup in 2014, most people outside of pittsburgh would have to think about it.

Gold medal. No contest.

If you posed this question to a group of NHLers bound for the Olympics this year, how do you think the poll would shake out?

lol.........are the results really surprising? It's not 1980, and we don't have an evil opponent like the Soviet Union. Our biggest rivals are our friendly neighbors to the north, Canada. And who plays on that team? Sidney Crosby. Who plays for Russia? Evgeni Malkin.

There is SOME redeeming quality to, say, Canada winning gold. Another success story for Sid. There is ZERO redeeming quality to another team winning the Stanley Cup. It's not even a question.

I'm more interested to see if the same excuses made for Bylsma coaching the Pens will be made for him coaching team USA. Though I wouldn't be surprised if team USA sucked and Byslma got signed to coach team USA for life.

If Miracle was never made, you could have asked the average American who won in 80 and the average American would have at best guessed Canada. In fact, that may not have changed.

When I voted for Gold, I thought I'd have a few more partners. 60 to 5 is quite the disparity.

The cup easily.

If the Olympics were played with amateurs still in hockey instead of pro hockey players I might care a bit more. I mean I want the US to win, but it's still pro athletes playing against pro athletes mostly. Loses some of its luster.

I chose the cup. USA gold would be great, but the Pens hit a lot closer to home (pun intended) when it comes to championships to me.

The only thing I would consider over a Stanley Cup is a World Series championship.

I've lived through my favorite team(at the time) winning Super Bowl(95), World Series(95), and Stanley Cup(09). So i'm even at 1 each. In a vacuum, the Pens winning the cup would be most important to me, but in considering how funny it would be to watch the world react to it, I'd probably choose the Cowboys winning another Super Bowl.
