They really can't do this. I personally spent over $400.00 this weekend for my ticket, hotel, drinks, and food all of which benefited the Columbus economy. If I were just a regular BJ fan, I probably would have only spent $15.00 for parking like I normally spend at Pens home game and not purchased any concessions etc.
The fact is, when you have a ton of fans from other teams, they will spend more money than your regular fan base. I bet the R-Bar, other restaurants, and Hotels aren't complaining about their profits from these games. Heck even the BJ's shouldn't be complaining for making more money than usual do by actually selling out a few games a year. If anything, I would increase ticket prices for games against Pittsburgh and Detroit.
