I guess they thought they couldn't get it going in time for 11-12?

Though, by staying independent for two seasons, sounds like they don't want to commit to the CCHA or the WCHA, and are holding out for a 7th team in the Big 10 to add D1 hockey...

Now that the announcement is here... make all those Icers teams proud. PSU's release has the Icers since the 71-72 season at the Club level, and a D1 varsity team from 1940-41 to 1945-46. I know Ralph Slate has been working on adding older D1 stats to hockeydb, but I don't think he's gotten that far back.
