I can't imagine why men wear it. To repel people? I've never heard a girl comment in a positive way about a guy's scent.

I can think of several times in the last couple of months where I've been out at a party greeting a female (with a hug or whatever), and she's commented "ooh you smell nice". You aren't going to "repel" people if you apply it sparingly.

Yep, this.

yeah, there are people that are terrible with cologne, but there are just so many terrible people that's to be expected. You can't derive your examples from the lowest common denomoninator.

Yeah some people just put on too much, like women who over do it with perfume. I don't personally like to wear it, but can see why others do.

if you can smell another dude, then he has way too much cologne on, if your cologne arrives 5 minutes before you then you either have problems with your ability to smell, or you're a club rat tryin' to get the ladies attention. Cologne should really be smelled only if someone is pretty much on top of you, if they can smell you and they're 2 feet from you then you need a lesson on how to apply.

I rarely wear any. Usually it's when I'm on a date with Mrs. PFiDC. She likes Stetson so that's what I got.

As I said earlier, I don't wear it ever. But I have no issue with people that do wear it (and I find it quite odd that someone would) as long as it's not overpowering. Less is more in most cases.

People are explaining the colognes they like to wear and you pop in with "I think less of people that wear cologne" and somehow it's a shock to you that people responded like they did? Really?

Did you even read the initial post on the thread? My post was right on point with what was asked.

I did... I just find it odd that you would post you think less of people that wear it, while there are people talking about what cologne they wear and then say "People took that comment way too seriously" What exactly were they supposed to think? I suppose you should have added 5 winky faces to the end of it to let people know you were just playing around.

Pretty much. I wasn't. The funny part is that all of you agreed with me. There is only one way that I can know that someone is wearing it. Its overwhelming. All of you have said that too much is bad. Even if I was serious and out of principle, I didn't like people that wore it, why would you care? You've never met me. Its unlikely that you ever will meet me.
