I think I'm the only one in my league that likes their team (The Southside Bumper Cars).

Went all in on receivers in the first two rounds and was still able to grab Forte in round 3.

QB: Luck*, E. Manning
RB: Forte*, Chris Johnson*, Green-Ellis, Felix Jones
WR: Calvin Johnson*, A.J Green*, Stevie Johnson*, Brian Hartline, Michael Floyd
TE: Gonzalez*, Gates
K: Janikowski
DEF: Packers

How many teams? Really strong top 4, depth is obviously an issue, but there are a lot worse flex plays than Johnson.

I always end up loving my team. I sometimes hate my first pick, but usually I end up happy with my team overall. Thats probably not good, as it makes me lean away from a lot of trades.

Role reversal of discussion earlier.. I would have went Marshall there (but that's definitely because of how much I love Marshall, not against Graham)

As you said, there will be some TE's who end up getting TD's, but impossible for you to predict and odds are you wouldn't have landed them. He provides you with a secure positional advantage. I took him in the mid-second in dynasty (having him for his entire career makes me get a little too pumped lol)

Got suckered in to taking a spot in a league at work and it will be my first year doing Fantasy Football. Is there any free resources on the web that I can use?

(i.e. order of best ranked players overall, top player rankings by position, & whats the best order by position to draft)

Any help or points in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

p.s.

Draft order is not known yet till Saturday right before we draft.

12 team league.

It is a standard scoring league were the QB's get 4 point per TD.

We draft 4 RB's, 4 WR's 2 QB's, 2 TE's 2 Def's, 2 Kickers.

We start 2 RB's, 2 WR's, 1 QB, 1 TE, 1 Flex, 1 Def, 1 Kicker.

If you Google search 2013 Fantasy Football NFL and search for just .PDF files, you will find plenty of draft guides and cheat sheets.

ESPN, Yahoo, CBS, Fox, etc etc etc all have rankings.

How you make your decisions is ultimately up to you, but they're all pretty solid.

Also, if it's an online draft, whatever site you're using typically has a list there for you that updates when guys are picked.

I think we draft than it is set up through ESPN.com. Does that sound right?

So you're all getting together at a bar/house to do it live while the person who runs the league enters the rosters into the league manually?

Then you're better off printing out the stuff from the sites, just to be on the safe side.

Do the lists on ESPN.com take into account injuries?

Yea, I feel like if I'd do a fantasy draft now I'd probably end up with him. (Never did before, felt he was getting way overdrafted in my Pgh leagues)

I'm big on taking guys that are starting rb's as later depth moves that other people ignore just because there's only so many of them
(Why I end up with players such as Ivory, D. Richardson, Mendenhall, D. Williams, Hillman) a lot.

That being said... he's probably at the very bottom of that above list for me now...

They do, but look at the date at the bottom to see if they accounted for the most recent injury news.

For example, their cheat sheets currently say:

Last updated: Friday, August 23, 2013

So pretty recently, but occasionally there will be some injury in-between their last update and when you draft

Ok thanks for the help/advice guys. One more question is there an order I should be looking for taking positions in?

This year, the motto of most experts is Rb's early and often (especially in 10-12 team, non 2 qb leagues). The reason for that is there's just such a wide gap between the elite rb's and some of the guys some people will have to start.

Example: Say if you wait on qb's and EVERYONE gets a qb before you draft one.... you end up starting, Andrew Luck. Doesn't sound that terrible

If you do that on rbs, end up in the Ryan Matthews / Lamar Miller category.

Most people would rather have: Andrew Luck / ADP than Aaron Rodgers and Ryan Matthews.

Of course everyone's opinion varies, and how extreme you want to go with this strategy (I seem to always end up with stronger wr's than most but weaker rbs because rbs just FLY off the board and I can't justify passing up on some elite wr for a rb I don't love). That being said, I personally would definitely take a RB in round 1 at least

Also, probably way too long of a read (I skimmed it, couldn't read it all), but if you're brand new to FF my personal favorite expert is Matthew Berry (was also a writer on Married with Children once upon a time). I think he's pretty intelligent / generally a good read

http://espn.go.com/fantasy/football/sto ... all-drafts

^ his annual "draft day manifesto" if you're brand new to fantasy.

Have fun though! FF definitely makes football a lot more interesting to me

O lastly...

DON'T take a kicker until the last round... ever lol. (That's being "that guy").

I wait until the next to last round on defense as well, but some go slightly earlier.

10 teams.

*Defense can be rotated throughout the season. I'm not worried about that. I'll probably rotate mine based on weak opponents, which you can probably get a feel for around week 5-6.

*Had to go with the fat kicker since there's also a bonus $50 pool for the best week by the kicker. While not the most accurate kicker these days, Janikowski can still hit from well beyond 50. He had 6 games last year where he had at least 1 50 yarder including two games where he kicked 61 and 64 yards. Kicks beyond 50 and 60 have additional bonus points.

*Gates was available surprisingly late, like round 11 or 12, but I'm sure that has more to do with him being unable to stay healthy and/or probably starting his decline into his early-mid 30s. I really only need one good week from him, and that's Gonz's bye week.

*Stevie Johnson is still a solid #3, although you can argue he isn't worth a thing if his QB sucks. He's still a #1 WR with over 1000 yards and who should see most of the targets from whomever will be his QB. Hartline was also a 1000 yard receiver, but 1/3 of his yards were in two games including one game where he had 253 yards, something I might have overlooked when I picked him late in the draft :face: . Michael Floyd was a last round pickup. Honestly he'll probably be gone before the season. Trying to keep an eye on any WRs that might have jumped out in the preseason.
