I'm really not happy with the Hurdleoscopy we got again tonight. Headache inducing.

Maybe they'll take Morris and Jones and even Locke.

I think Locke's just fried right now. Jones is...wow...I don't even know what Jones is. And Morris I'd trade for a fungo bat and a used base.

So, does anybody get sent down with Byrd and Buck coming in? And who would that be? Lambo? Or does everybody stay up on the 40 man roster after Sept. 1?

Kind of wishing the Pirates would have traded for Bud Norris at the deadline. There's no way Locke can make his next start. Calling him a liability would be too kind at this point.

What a waste of a 15 hit game. Hopefully Morton can put a stop to this slight skid. Our pitching has been more than a little shaky lately. We really need the pitching to get their act together if we hope to do anything in the playoffs.

20-18, since ASG. Which to be fair I think this team is naturally a slightly better than 500 club. Luck wore off a little...

A month ago I had no problem with the pitching whatsoever. I still have no problem with Liriano and AJ but all of a sudden I have no idea who the third playoff starter would be. Right now I think I'd go with Morton, which is scary. Really missing Wandy right now.

This team doesn't have the hitting to sustain a pitching staff that has an ERA over 4. The two months we've struggled that was the case. Unless our starters come around we're going to continue to limp to the finish line.

I'd like to see Crumpton get another MLB start.

Bullpen hasnt been lights out either. The pitching in general has dropped off.

I'm thinking the bullpen would do better with less innings of work. But, yes they've fallen off as well.

the best part about being at last nights game was the loud music and jumbotron introduction for mark melancon that was quickly cut off when they realized that it was watson, not melancon, entering the game.

I would as well. At this point I think you have to sit Locke down, at least for his next start. Not many options outside of Cumpton, Johnson, or stretching out Gomez and getting him back in the rotation. I'd really like to see them get another pitcher. Locke sucks and can't be trusted. Cole is most likely going to be moved to the bullpen for the playoffs. Wandy isn't coming back. Liriano, Burnett, Morton (who is always a question mark), and then a whole bunch of question marks. Gross.

As I said last week.. The pitching isn't bad outside of Locke. No denying he's sucked lately, but everyone else has been fine. Just need to get them some runs. Or for Wandy to come back but that is very unlikely.

Adding Byrd to the lineup, I think I would rather have Lambo in than Tabata. Given that who do you lead off?

you could always bat Cutch first, and put Byrd #3, since he hit there a lot for the Mets, but it's gonna be Tabata/Gaby since Gorzo is pitching, and when are they going to announce who's going back down. I figure Pie/Sanchez, or can they play with a paper transaction til the Sept 1 call ups and just keep eveyone here?

Byrd, Cutch, Lambo, Pedro, Mercer, Walker, Out, Martin, Pitcher

I think with those 9, you have Mercer lead off.

Mercer
Walker
Cutch
Byrd/Pedro
Byrd/Pedro
Martin
Out
Lambo
Pitcher

I look for Tabata to stay in the lineup for now leading off with Mercer in the 8th spot (unless a lefty is pitching then I put Walker there until he refuses to hit from the right side) and Lambo coming off the bench.

also, after the first inning does it matter who hit first? You could put RMART/Mercer/Walker at the top, unless they get no-hit how many times other than the first inning are they going to be the lead off guy?
