I was laughing about that too. My starting pitching needs to stop giving up 5-6 runs per appearance. :scared:

My ERA has ballooned big time this week. I have to address power.

Felix Hernandez+ on the block for a premiere power bat for anyone with a re-sign to use on Felix.

Tulowitzky is injured, out 4-6 weeks. Not yet on the DL. I do have an open roster spot right now. Anyone opposed to me picking up Teheran as his replacement? Its a paper move, Teheran is not scheduled to start till Sunday, Tulo will be on the DL by then.

I can't recall if this has been discussed. If we place a player on LTDL, can you sign a player to fill that roster spot or does the acquisition have to be a "replacement player?"

Signing the replacement isn't an option, its a requirement.

OK, so it is not like a "DL Replacement" it is a: Player Z signed to MLB-X?

Also, I guess I want to confirm that Alex Cobb can be LTDL'd before I do it. He is on the 7-day concussion DL right now, I think, but lots of reports seem to suggest he will not return this year. He is having post-concussion issues and has fluid behind his ear, which is causing additional balance issues. No timetable at all for his return. I don't know that this fits either option in the rules, but as we all know too well, I don't know that you could expect an "out for the season" announcement with a concussion issue.

Rules state:

"(i.) The player has been placed on his major league club’s 60-day Disabled List, (ii.) The player has been deemed “out for the season” by his major league club."

Thoughts?

I don't think Cobb meets the criteria as dfined by the current league rules, but I don't have a problem with you putting him on LTDL since he has played well enough that losing him for the season is not a preferred move.

I don't really have a problem with someone with a concussion being put on the LTDL.

Willing to listen to offers on Moustakas (4) if the price is right. Looking to add saves and steals. Prefer expiring contracts, but can take on 2 yr deals if necessary.

What are the rules on signing a farm team player currently on your team as an IR callup? I didn't see anything that specifically addressed it, but it looks like you can sign him without removing him from your roster.

There would be no need to remove him from your roster as you own his rights anyway. I would think you would have to release someone though, because when you add him, you'd be going to 23 players under contract.
