Next time you are in So. Jersey/Philly area, I can give you a whole family. No need for a trade.

no trade? youre missing out on getting some quality bugs to be named later.

i saw 3 generations of them all in one place the other night. the baby one was smaller than a pea, and was hiding under a dumbell. cute little guy. the teenager was in a pile of laundary. those ones suck because they're basically the fastest insects on the planet. impossible to squash, but i respect their talent. the grown up was huddled in a corner ready to suicide bomb someone. ugly. slow. stupid. horrifying. and its guts are all over the lid to my cooler. see you in hell.

Next time you are out in Phoenix, you can hang out in my yard and catch some of the Jurassic style bugs back there. As I watched that thing on my screen door, I realized that while it's awfully large and creepy, I'm more worried about what it was trying to get away from. Might be scorpion hunting time with a black light to see what's in my back yard. If none of those, there might be a large wolf spider or tarantula.

LITT - someone was telling me that tarantulas are super fragile, and if you drop one from like chest high on their back, they will die. Do you know if that's true?

LITT, what is this? Was laying in bed reading while the wife was sleeping and saw this crawling across her in the corner of my eye.

Nice clicker bug. Not sure of real name.

Get it on a hard surface and gently press its back. The head makes a loud clicking sound.

They are harmless.

I've seen more earwigs this week than I have in the last several years combined. What gives? They like the rain or something?

I have an irrational fear of earwigs. I think it comes from kicking a pole when I was like 10 years old and about 300 earwigs came spilling out.

Ya click beetle. Used to scare predators away but they can also flip themselves over if they get knocked over. Elateridae

How bout this sucker? Wheel bug or newborn alien?

Edit: That beak that you can barely see is a good half inch long. Bite marks last for over a month!
