Back in 1993, a 20 year old JS© was able to see this show, which I didn't know until tonight was about a week before they recorded the Unplugged album. Not sure what I was thinking or why it would work, but I made the hour drive up to W&M with no idea of whether it was sold out (guessing it was) or knowing if scalpers were in place (of course there weren't.) I hung out in the lobby, where one lady taking tickets asked if she could help me. I told her I was waiting for a friend that had my ticket. Of course, there was no friend or no ticket. After awhile, the crowd in the lobby cleared and I was still hanging out. She called me out and waved me over. She then tells me "I know what you're trying to do. Give me a few minutes and I'll get you in." Sure enough, she eventually waved me through and I was able to see part of The Breeders' set and the entire Nirvana set.

For a bootleg, the acoustics of W&M are just as bad as I remember them. :lol:

one noticeable song left off the setlist was "Teen Spirit". In an interview a few weeks after that show, he admitted that he forgot how to play the solo.

Stone: Along with everything else that went wrong onstage tonight, you left without playing "Smells Like Teen Spirit." Why?

Cobain: That would have been the icing on the cake [smiles grimly]. That would have made everything twice as worse.I don't even remember the guitar solo on "Teen Spirit." It would take me five minutes to sit in the catering room and learn the solo. But I'm not interested in that kind of stuff. I don't know if that's so lazy that I don't care anymore or what. I still like playing "Teen Spirit," but it's almost an embarrassment to play it.
