I wonder what moves are going to follow now to free up the cap space. This is exciting!

Ugh. Was hoping Sprong and no 1st. Brassard should thrive in our system.

man, that seems kind steep.

Edit- the more I think about it, the more I disagree with my above response. Cole is a UFA, who knows what Gustavsson will turn out to be and a late 1st rounder isn't a sure NHLer. Plus Brassard is signed through next year and the Sens did retain 10%.

TSN saying that the Sens put Cole right back on the market. Rutherford should offer a 4th if they keep 50%, yeah!

We could offer them Brassard if they throw in Gustavsson and a 1st. No, wait...

Haha, brilliant! Unfortunately, I doubt the Sens will be as steadfast in their return demands as GMJR.

I can't help but think the Pens will be looking for another defenseman, though.

There are still more details to come in this Pittsburgh-Ottawa trade, perhaps a third team involved in some manner...

This could be interesting.

May be Ottawa found a taker for Cole already

Seems like a steal to me but Sens can turn Cole into another high pick. Any friction with Cole and Sully is going so ultinatelynits one less distraction.

When I first saw that I assumed involving the Pens, but this is probably the case.

For salary reasons, that makes the most sense

My goodness I absolutely love ol' Jimmy and his hockey trades. He plays this thing like a fantasy team. Reminds me of the early Craig Patrick days. Who cares about tomorrow, trade for the now and ride the horses until their legs fall off!

Pardon me for just seeing this ! But this is an amazing trade. Steal of a trade. And we keep our forward depth.

Hopefully Hunwick still goes and they bring in two defensemen. Unless there's more, I do not like giving up Cole. That means Hunwick is back in the lineup.

Maybe the "more" is Karlsson to the Pens?

But lose D depth, which is more important. But I trust GMJR isn't done yet, either.
