Lost me on this one. Crosby? Letang?! And I admit I don't watch Caps games that often... but Holtby?

I'll draft my own Metro roster.

G: Bobrovsky (COL), Lundqvist (NYR)
D: Jones (COL), Hanifin (CAR), Leddy (NYI)
F: Giroux (PHI), Tavares (NYI), Kessel (PIT), Hall (NJ), Malkin (PIT), Ovechkin (WSH)

G: Bobrovsky is better than Holtby. Period. Probably better than Lundqvist too. If not Bobrovsky, I'd put in Cory Schneider (NJ).
D: When it comes to D, Gostisbehere would be on my list, but for needing a Carolina player. Hanifin is the only one I could think of as well. In no universe do I put Letang on that roster. Calvin de Haan was another thought for D, but I'd prefer Leddy.
F: I actually put in Bailey over Hall. But had to come up with a guy from New Jersey on that roster (marketing!). Don't believe Bailey should keep Malkin out. Kessel is a no brainer. Think this makes sense.. though I also thought of Vorácek and Couturier (PHI), Lee (Isles) and Kuznetsov (WSH). But roster's full and those would all be second or third players of the same team.

I am okay with no Pens going to the ASG. A little extra rest and no chance of injury.

I can't rationalize Letang, but I figure Crosby goes as the face of the NHL and the Pens.

Missing the ASG is a one game suspension..... so that makes the All Star break a little longer for guys who need a rest. Don't go, its a freaking joke.

Since it’s a 3-3 format makes sense. McDonough sucked last year so I’m all for selecting people who will make the game fun to watch.

BUT I would have put in Ghost and Kessel instead of Giroux and Letang. Everyone else is fine I guess.

Letang is a wonderful 3 on 3 defensemen, since, you know, there is no actual defense being played.

I think there are at least 2 defensemen with a worse +/_ than Letang.

Would have liked to see no one from the Pens make it if the “rest” excuse is still a thing

Crosby goes as the face of the NHL and as defending shooting accuracy champion. Remember, it's a weekend event, not just the ASG.
I agree with switching Ghost for Letang and Kessel for Claude, but I don't really care.

I was wondering why John Scott isn't on the All Star roster. Turns out he retired...

The NHL needs to stop with the gimmicks for the sake of gimmicks and then make choices that goes against them. I like th 3 on 3 format but to allow a guy in the middle of a suspension Play is absurd even for this league and then adding another forward to ATL justvto add another lightning player because apparently just three wasn’t enough and adding Boyle who has no place in a game like this hurts the enjoyment of the game.

The skills competition was just weird.

And now we have a challenge on the off side which will technically should bring a goal back by a player who was exiting the ice that wasn’t even in the play.

That might be a straw that breaks the camels back here in review.
