My interest in the team does not hinge on who the coach is.

GM Ray Shero doesn't strike me as a guy who would be socializing one night and firing the next day.

Unless they let Bylsma go last night at the CEC and then walked out to the concert afterwards.

But who knows... is it October yet? :scared:

Maybe they ran into each other. Must have been very uncomfortable for RS.

There were both at CEC already. Shero met with team owners on Bylsma's fate at 7 am, and (according to Rossi) the meetings went late into the evening.

Looks like Fleury is on his way out. No way they can remain on the same team. Don't care what kind of smoke Dan is blowing. He is not the number 1 goalie in his eyes.

I don't know what his point is, but that definition sure sounds like the Penguins with Bylsma as HC.

Except that the results have not been the same.

This isn't directed at anyone above this thread - but I don't know what's worse, making excuses for the things that Bylsma has done well, or making excuses for the things that he's failed at.

I figured as much, but it doesn't answer my question.

Not that I need an answer anyway.

I guess since you aren't spending money on tickets every game so you're just following them the same way i will be. My interest in spending money on the team certainly hinges on whether I think they are going to do anything.

same coach implies same approach = same result

one's reaction to "same result" may vary, but losing interest is one possible outcome.

I would fire both Bylsma and Shero for even thinking about going to a New Kids concert. I did not know men liked that type of thing. You want that type of man running this organization?

New Kids?? Really?? :)

It's not like I could make a conscious decision to lose interest in the team.

Maybe the smiles last night were the dreaded "vote of confidence" which always preceeds the firing.
I'm too preoccupied waiting the the 11:00 news conference to get any work done.

Dannigan: Don't blame yourself, Todd. We were doomed from the start. I guess all that remains now is for the coach to go down with the ship.
Reirden: That's surprisingly noble of you, sir.
Dannigan: No, it's noble of YOU, Todd. As of now, you're in command. Congratulations, coach.

I don't want to hear GM Ray Shero say again, that it's his fault when I never heard those words from Coach Disco.

Jeff Reardon? Well at least we have a closer!!! We just have to find a way to get a lead.

I'm sticking with my earlier theory. DB here, Granato and Reirdon gone. Replacements NOT of DB's choosing. One or both capable of replacing DB at a moment's notice.

And DB has an extension. Not as a reward, but if fired Pens have right to refuse to grant interviews.

If nothing changes at all this year.. IE Bylsma and Fleury are both back etc, then I will care considerably less about the upcoming season. I will have no confidence that the team can win a cup, and will be just another regular season wonder. It sucks.

If they are both brought back and nothing changes, it will have become clear that this organization is more concerned with sellouts, marketing, and a feel-good atmosphere than it is with winning.
