I think there is a very good chance we get either Suter or Parise. It would be very tough to grab both. We would probably have to dump more salary. What is more likely is the Pens signing Suter and trading a couple of our defensive prospects to bring in a winger for Sid.

Suter is a true number 1 defenseman. If you don't believe that, you have to acknowledge that he's as close to one as you'll get in free agency at 27.

Despite all the defensemen in the system, they're now missing something for next season. Suter would be a perfect fit in just about every way (though you can say that about him and every team.

If Suter's rights were available, that would be awesome. Pretty sure RS has reached-out to Nashville and stated interest if they decide to trade his rights somewhere, but GM Poile has said that isn't an option yet. Maybe something changes and they really feel Suter won't re-up after July 1st, but for now, looks like Nash/Poile thinks they can still retain him.

The guy is a stud and would be a #1 dman on about any roster. He log a ton of minutes, has some offensive abilites, smart and is pretty solid in his own end. Love to see him in a Pens' uni but I don't think it will happen.

Not bad IMO. But until he is a Penguin it doesn't matter. We all know the value of Suter, and as such I refuse to expect him in a Pens jersey.

If you want to say "good enough that you feel comfortable throwing them out there for huge minutes" that's fine. But then it becomes something that kind of goes without saying.
