The problem with sullivan at this stage is he's a PP specialist, sid needs a better winger at even strength, sullivan is too old, small and weak along the boards to be with sid, and if he can't play top 6 he certainly can't play bottom 6.
I was very satisfied with what we got out of Sullivan this year. It was right about at the high end of what I expected him to do and the game I expected him to play. Would sign again for the same price.
He was good after the first 30 games, but I don't think sid is giving the pens a break on his salary and signing long term, to skate on a line with sully and duper. Plus last season was the healthiest sully's been in about a decade, I wouldn't count on it happening again, if sully comes back it will probably be because the pens missed out on plans a and b. I'd sign Brad Boyes for 2.5-3 and move duper to the left wing boyes on the right and see what you have.

If Sid signs a discount it won't be because of who his line mates may be. If he signs at a discount it'll be because the Pens are afraid another hit will turn his brain to mush and because Crosby and his agent realize he's a pretty massive injury risk. Considering Crosby has been the most productive player in the NHL over his last 82 games played I don't think he's that worried about his line mates.

I've said this a lot before, but I'd really welcome Mikael Samuelsson.

Any combo works for me.
Ott isn't an UFA, I think he has two years left on his contract. Just under 3 million. He's 29 and he does just about everything imaginable so he would not come cheap even if Dallas was willing to part with him.
As much as I would love Ott, I agree with another poster that what we need is two Prusts. Maybe Prust and Tootoo or Tootoo and Janssan.

We could sign big psyhical veteran D-man (Allen) to 2year contract max.,then also Morrow and someone else also are 101 % ready to step in..
Letang, Despres, Morrow are locks I think for 2013-2014 season.. Orpik, Niskanen, Engelland ?!? Maybe even Dumuolin will be ready as well..
We need 3 puck movers,3 big guys,more psyhical D-mans..
As this season is concerned I really really dont want Gonchar back..
