I still remember coach therrien, day after Sid recieved high ankle sprain in 07, talked to Evgeni before the montreal game. Therrien pointed to the scoring list...indicating that Geno should be higher in offensive stats. No translator needed.

Really enjoyed Geno dedicating the award to Sarge.

Without him comforting, giving hospitality to Geno, being an awesome leader for him to look up to coming over from Russia... who knows if Malkin ever gets this good in the NHL.

Sarge also doesn't get enough credit for that 2009 cup win. He was hitting like he never did in his career. Was a true number 1 all around defenseman that playoff run. Just awesome.
