if anyone is still looking to book a hotel.. i suggest going on priceline if you are familiar with using it. I got the hyatt on capitol square which is within walking distance for 60 dollars on priceline.. original 120 or so if you book on the hyatt site.

what parameters did you put in to get this? 3+ star? location?

its also $127/night, + $20 tax, + $21 daily valet parking fee maybe = $168

Just priceline a room if you dont have a place. Thats what I did for my trip down to Tampa last week. Worked out great.
If you search through 3 1/2 star or 4 star rooms you can see where its gonna put you once you name a price. All those places its bringing up are nice. Hell, its only 1 or 2 nights.

It just gave me this:

hotwire.com has a room in the arena district at a 4 star hotel for 69 dollars. didn't say what hotel, you just have to kinda jump in blind. I booked the room for 86 dollars total and it ended up being the hyatt about 6 -7 blocks away from the arena. Pretty sweet deal if you ask me. Also does anyone else know what else there is to do for a day in columbus outside of pre and post game libations?

I've used priceline for Columbus rooms 3 times, and I've ended up with the Hyatt Capitol Square, the Westin, and this hotel I'm in in December, all for under $80 each. When there's no OSU game in town the hotels are super empty.

Its a great hotel, my favorite in Columbus. Has a good sports themed bar-restaurant open late off the lobby with pretty good food and drafts. Its about a 15 minute walk to the arena but cabs are plentiful and will set you back under $10 each way. I was hoping I'd get this hotel when I did priceline for this trip but it didn't happen.

3 1/2 star and location was downtown columbus.

I go out to Columbus often and typically catch the Pens games on TV there.

Pretty cheap to drink and this place will be packed before and after the game with Pens fans.

Mozaik is a pretty lame (in my opinion) wanna be dance club. Not really my cup of tea...

The R-Bar however is awesome. Every Jackets game is shown on the TVs, and they're proud to boast that if you want to see the Buckeyes play during a Jackets game that you should go somewhere else. It's pretty much the only place that has legitimately embraced hockey as opposed to the other 'professional' sports team in the city. Every television is tuned to a game or NHL Network and the bar is set up to serve 360 degrees around a mockup of the Nationwide jumbotron.

There's even a penalty box booth and Red Wings logos in the urinals.

I started at $40 and they rejected it. The cheapest I got was $50.

Nice to know there is bunch of us staying at Hyatt, I always go Priceline got it for 47 back in September. Had the Residence Inn last year which was great hopefully this will be as nice.

i put in $59.. it was $75 total with everything. is there parking around there?
